I got my 360 and I have noticed that on a normal TV, all the text that comes up is really hard to read and I would love to get the HD experience (who do I talk to about getting the Bert in HD?). However one thing that I am not sure about is what to do about sound if I use a moniter for my video? I would have to buy the 360 AVI cable, but what does that have for hooking up to sound? Could I use computer speakers? If you have a Moniter set up, I would love to hear how you did it. Thanks all.

PS - I am a converted PC gamer, instead of spending $600 on a video card, I bought a 360 so I could play the same games at a fraction of the price.

You are gonna need the Microsoft VGA cables:

Then you are going to need a set of speakers. I recommend you get these as they come with a adapter to turn the audio cables from the VGA cable into the 3.5mm jack the speakers use.

Hope that helps. You will be very pleased with the result, monitors have a higher DPI that TVs so it actually looks a little better.

I have a very similar setup in my room, Samsung 22' lcd and some random logitech 5.1 speakers, that I am using while I save up for a nice hd tv for the bedroom.

I use 3 audio Y cables along with the speaker to RCA adapter that came with my logitech speakers in order to get sound going from both my pc and 360.

Now, It works good for the most part however there are some issues.

While playing the 360, if I have my pc on at the same time my effective 360 volume through the speakers seems to be cut in half. I believe this has to do with the electrical charge going through the speakers from both sources. What I do is just turn the speakers way up, or turn my pc off.

On the other side, If I am playing something on the PC and I even have the 360 connected I will get static during some intense audio moments and my mp3's usually sound pretty bad at high levels. To deal with this I just keep the RCA cables comming from 360 to the speakers eas to reach so I can unplug them. I have noticed if I unplug the cables, then plug them back in without turning my 360 back on it is fine. This leads me to believe again this has to do with a electrical charge that is maintained between the two devices and the speakers.

This method is not perfect however it is the best I have been able to find. It is functional for now, with minimum hassel. My only other real option with my setup in the bedroom would be to run the 360 sound through my x-fi soundcard then out to the speakers, however I have not bothered researching it because the 5.1 sound in games would likely be downmixed to basic stereo (2.0). (at least that is what I am assuming, I really should look into it)

If you are looking for Y cables I got mine shipped from radioshack, if you find better let me know because better cables may solve the issues I am having.

There should be similar stores around in your country ;) If you have any major electronic stores, like Best Buy in North America, ask someone there!

Nope you can hook your 360 straight up to a set of computer speakers using an adapter like the one from Radioshack posted earlier. That's what I'm using, hooked up to my Logitech 5.1 speakers and with a splitter, also to my larger speakers that are connected to a mini stereo system. It's great.:D
