Okay, I have been having a problem with my 360 starting up the games. It is not the red ring of death problem, or anything else I have read online, but when I try to turn on any game the message pops up: To play this disc put it in an Xbox 360 console. Does anyone know what this problem is, and if so could you please help me.

if its happening alot its the start of your system most likely dying, i am military and on my deployment we had four when they all started that i had to send them to MS its started slow like every so often then more and more. trying cleaning off the disc and blowing dust out of the system could help, but does not usually turn out good when it starts that as far as i know

Try cleaning the disk? Don't start jumping to conclusions that it's 'dying' - unless it really is :P.

I had an Xbox 360 that was sitting around and not reading disc. I ignored because i just bought an Elite instead but the other day someone put a dvd lens cleaner disc in it to clean it and all of a sudden the first game i put in it worked and so did others. The disc was called cleanDR and was bought at a Kmart. Now since i have cleaned it once in awhile i have to reclean it to get it to work again, try that it may help, helped me.

Youre dvd drive is going out. It costs $99 to have M.S. replace it. Send it in.

that happened to mine. i have no idea why so give ol' M$ a call and seee what they say. i never got the rrod but i would guess it may have been coming cause it did that for a few months and got worse over time. went to bb and replaced it with a new falcon 360.
