I was currious how people feel about playing dvd's on their 360's
with the original xbox it was pretty obvious that if you played dvd videos it wared out the drive really bad and made game loads take much longer, seriously hurt the console.
Is that the same for the 360 or are the drives alot better?
How do you people feel about playing dvds on it?

Well i believe thats what a dvd player is for. I never play dvds on my 360 just because its one less chance of it crashing. LOL Although im curious to know, does the 360 upconvert dvds?

Playing DvDs in your X-box did NOT wear it out anymore than playing games. God, where do you people get your information these days?

I watch DVD's on my 360 all the time. It is a great upconvertor and its already hooked into my HD set so no need to go out and buy a seperate dvd upconversion player. I've had my 360 since launch and have had no problems with it and out of all of the horror stories I've heard not a single one of them has been about a DVD crashing the drive.

survey says.....stop worring and go watch your pr0n.

it shouldn't wear anything out, especially since when you have a dvd in there, the drive isn't running too fast it seems. (unlike when you have a game in there, it's really loud)

what is upconverting?

Common sense says that since it constently reads dvds but not games, it will put more wear on the drive.
