Did anybody else get an email saying they were going to be refunded the taxes on their points purchases?

I always buy my points directly through my console, so I am never charged any taxes when I buy points. The one time I bought a points card, I remember not being charged tax either. Since it is a stored value card, they can't legally charge you tax for it. Just like if you go buy a $20 gift card, the store can't charge you tax since you technically aren't buying anything at the time, you are buying something with a stored value to be used for a later purchase. Oh and to answer your question, no, I didn't get an email like that.

No, I called the main corporation and had an investigation done. It appears certain places can tax and some cannot. Anyway I got a refund.

I always get points through my console too. I've never used a points card, just my credit card.

I didn't, but I've heard that people are. Major Nelson says it's legit... check out his blog for more info.

I got my credit today (two in fact), but haven't seen the e-mail about it.
