I sent my 360 in for repair because of the E74, and instead of repairing it they just sent me a new 360. It's pretty much identical except for being shiny and new. It's the third time I've sent it in, so maybe they just got annoyed by me and decided to trash the first console.

Anyways is there anyway for me to tell based on say, the serial number, of what version they sent back to me? I'm really hoping they decided to send me a console version back with less baggage and more reliability (Is it the Jasper thats better?).

Anyways just curious if anyone knows, thanks.

I don't know about the serial number telling you anything but I do know that if you have an HDMI port on the back that you most likely have a more reliable console now.

Yeah I got a new console after my second RRod as well. The original Serial number print on the back was replaced by a sticker with my old serial number.

I suggest google to find out what model you have. I'm pretty sure you can tell the production date from the serial number.

I think you can tell by how much power it's using. The newer ones need less. Don't quote me on that though.

Nah, no HDMI port from what I can see. Bummersville. Microsoft would save a lot of cash to just send me a reliable version, bound to happen in the future again.
