One thing I have been wondering since they revealed the 360 slim. The hdd is obviously smaller and now internal. Question is, are they going to sell this smaller hdd seperatly and when?

Some people need even MORE space. What they would use it for, I have absolutely no idea (I can't even fill up my 20GB,) but I'm sure there will always be someone willing to pay. And, that kind of means that it is internal. It certainly can't be called external if it inside the case now can it?

ya 4real. had 20gb got tired of installing and install. got 60gb now i got 9 games installed and still got plenty space. i say it's external because press on the vent and pull hard drive out. it hidden. if it internal you shouldn't be able reach it unless slice it open.

The hard drive is still external, although they did a much better job of hiding it this time - you simple remove the cover on the end of the Xbox and you can pull the HDD out, although it takes some force :) I would assume in a few months they'll be selling different HDD sizes. As a weird note, some of the new Xbox's have been coming with 120GB HDD's instead of 250. Be sure to double check the box.

I believe 250GB is more than enough but every now and then, there will be some junkie that needs MOAR! lol... Even then, that's a small demographic of gamers that will be needing more than 250GB. 120GB is quite easy to fill even for a gamer like me who hardly needs space.. so 250GB hits the spot.

I won't lie, I am not a 360 fan or user. I do like the styling of the new slim though. I think it needs a price drop and I am sure it's price tag was held because of the hdd they give you with it. It is a shame it took them almost 5 years to make a sleeker model... at this point, I have little interest in getting one because of the aging technology... however, a smaller price tag will make me curious... btw, I am appauled aat the price of Kinect, $150 really? For that money just buy a wii and enjoy motion control done right! THIS IS NOT TROLLING, as I stated I do like the new design and style, just not the price.

Yea I don't understand that logic. The Wii is barely more powerful than the original xbox. (but he isn't a troll :))

There would be no point. Think about it... they don't sell the new model without a hard drive... the new models hard drive isn't compatible with old models... why on earth would you need to buy a new one? There's literally no point.

Well Microsoft just confirmed a Slim arcade that doesn't come with the hdd, instead it has the internal flash memory.

So I ask again. A seperate slim hdd?

btw, the hdd is internal. doesn't matter if it's removable, it's still "inside." That is the definition of "internal."

Are you sure? I thought the original Xbox was more powerful than the Wii. I own a Wii. I haven't played anything on it that looks better than Doom 3, Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, Ninja Gaiden, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, etc etc.

I didn't see where Microsoft said there wouldn't be a HDD in the new Arcade, just the reporters speculating that if it follows the same formula as the old Arcade it won't have one.

At this point I really think they have to put some kind of hard drive in the new Arcade. The fact that the old Arcades didn't have some kind of HDD was it's biggest draw back keeping people from buying it. I'd be really surprised if it doesn't have at least a 60GB HDD in it. At the bare minimum a 20GB. You can buy a 60GB HDD for like $10 so MS probably doesn't pay much more than a few bucks for them.
