Current Gen consoles still have another year to go before we will heard any short of news of the Next Gen of consoles from Microsoft and Sony.

theys nothing in the pipeline, nothing offical from anyone, no comments saying its definetally in the works soon. if ur waiting for a new system , then i think ur wasting your time, at least for another 3 years. ms wont be knocking out until they know sonys getting ready for the next move. theys too many titles racked up for the next 2-3 years for it to be ecconically viable. sony are loosing loads as a business on the whole so sacking off ps3 this early for them would be a huge mistake, and microsoft even though u think they loaded (they are) but the xbox is ran as its own business and all xbox activities the previous xbox set them back just over 4billion in the red. that was before the 360 kicked off, and before RROD. they dont make any money on the console, thats why they constant price reductions when manufacturing costs come down. this is because they want to make the money off games and live serivces. which are where all they cash comes from. i dont think they close to breaking even overall yet so i dont expect them to ditch this cash cow until they know they have to make a move to keep up/ahead of sony. and like i said sony doing worse than xbox. the companies taken a massive hit in profits accross the company as a whole since the credit crunch, and before it wasnt doing the best. i think they still quite a few years left. as soon as they bring out a new system thats a few more years in the red at least. so they will want to at least start making a profit and wipe out the debt they made so far. think about it business wise, not gaming wise and how long they is before the games cant get better. u gotta think they aint made money, they lost loads. but they is light at the end of the tunnel. and when they hit it they will need to milk it for a year or two at least otherwise they wont be anything in the bank apart from a overdraft to bank roll the new system and all the new games they will want to invest in to make the system a hit. why u think sony still support the ps2. cos it makes money even now, if they stop they waste all the money they invested in making a huge customer base, and it takes alot to sack off a cash cow for something new, coz no matter how successfull ur last system was the next can always totally flop, then after u killed ur own system off, you are left with nothing. see sega for a great example of this 2 duff machines ill marketed and they out the game, no ones immune to that, even ms, sony or nes

I hope Microsoft isnt stupid enough to make the mistake of shoving the biggest graphics card and the cheapest processor out there when they release a Xbox 720 or some distant sucessor. Its like sticking a Formula 1/Nascar engine in a car with square wheels. It puts on quite a show but you have to wait a decade for it to start. PS3 is so much more damn balanced.

WOW! How about enjoy what is currently out since there is ALOT to enjoy. I swear I think some people (Especially now in this day and age) don't really like or care for what they buy but always want to have what's NEW and HOT to simply say they have it.

Too bad PS3 is absolutely crappy in ever other facet. Preinstalls, forced Blu-ray technology that has yet to prove itself, new SKU's every 3 months, delays, barely above average exclusives, loss of prime exclusives, lackluster online network, too much micromanagement, and tons of other useless features a game ocnsole should NOT have.

I think to say Blueray is yet to prove itself is a bit of a stretch. What format is competing against it? VHS? Yes, DVD still has a strangle hold on the market, but lets look at how long it has been around. I beleive it was around 93 when DVD came to be. If you wanted to get technical you could go back to when the original CD was invented, as DVD es esentially a High Density version of the CD.

Yes HDDVD had a short stent against Blueray, but I think we can all agree what happened there. So the way I look at it is this; Although Sony has decided to force Blueray technology into the Playstation 3, it benefits gamers and movie watchers at the same time. Not only do we get movies viewing at a true HD res; 1080p and 7.1 Surround Sound, we also get games on BR, which means more data, bigger graphics, longer gameplay. This coupled with the astounding technology behind the PS3, we get an amazing game experience.

Your comments about the PS3's online experience seem a bit unwarranted as well. Are we comparing this to Xbox Live!, or are we just **** here? If we are comparing the Playstation Network to Xbox Live!, then yes, it doesnt compare. But is that a fair comparison? Hardly. Xbox Live! has been around since 2002 when it was made available on the original Xbox. The Playstation Network has been up and running since, 2006. So with that being said, Xbox Live! has a 4 year jump on PSN. Its also undergone numerous changes thus far. PSN has not had time to mature as much. One of the shining points that PSN covers that Xbox Live! does not, is cost. It's free. Yes, $50 for a year of Xbox Live! isn't that much, but when compared to free, you cannot **** that much. Unless you are just ungreatful.

You bring up something having to do with useless features. What features are useless? WiFi? USB? Bluetooth? I am a little confused here. I mean, if the PS3 had a can opener sticking out the side, and a toilet paper despencer than maybe I could see your point being valid, but alas, it doesnt. This actually depresses me, but thats another story.

Builtin WiFi....Xbox doesnt have it. PS3 does. Score 1 for PS3.
Bluetooth...Xbox doesnt have it. PS3 does. Score another 1 for PS3
USB....Both the Xbox and PS3 have this
Big ass power brick....Xbox has this, and the PS3, well it doesnt. Its inside, where it should be.

Soooo in terms of useless features, I am going to give 1 point to Xbox. So lets tally up those scores.

Useless features
Xbox 1
PS3 0

Usefull features
Xbox 1
PS3 3

You may say I am biased, but I disagree. I love my 360 just as much as my PS3. So lets not go down that unneeded road of travel. It will only end in agression, and arguement. And me probably making you look stupid, as I am doing at this very moment with this whole post.

As far as exclusives, I could care less about exclusive titles. Yes they do drive the market in terms of console sales, but who wins in this case? Well not the console companies becuase they are not making money off the sell of their console. The video game publisher / developer makes money off the game sale. The console maker, makes little money off third party sells, and more off their own first party sells. Microsoft making games for PS3, and Sony making games for Xbox, well that doesnt make sense, so yes I can see first party games being exclusive, out of down right common sense. But third party publishers, I think have a duty in a sense to release games cross platform. Now we can argue that when a game is built from the ground up and designed based on a consoles features and overall power, the game looks better there then it doesnt when ported to another system. Although I can see where this could not be true at the same time.

So in conclusion....your statements about the PS3 being, I guess you could say "lack luster" Are unfounded, unneeded, and untrue. You sound more like some kid that cant afford a PS3, and youre just pissed off because you cant join your friends in a rousing game of Killzone 2 Multiplayer. Dont be sad little trooper. I am sure Sony will drop the price of the PS3 again, and make it more "financially attainable" for yourself.
