While I heard that the ps3 is going to have a software update to display 3d graphics, the 360 is getting 3d support? While skimming thru ebgames website, I came across this for Batman: Dark Asylum-

"Batman: Arkham Asylum returns with a GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION on Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION®3 that includes extra content and now, for the first time, Trioviz™ 3D vision on home consoles."

Now, I follow several gaming sites to stay caught up on game news, I never heard or read that the 360 is getting 3d support. I have read several times about the playstation patch, what gives? Anyone have anymore information?

You would need to have a 3D capable tv etc... as well surely? I can't see it happening on this generation of consoles.

Yes, you would need a 120 Hz compatible tv, and yes, it is happening this generation, but this does not answer the question I posed.

I think its just a version of 3d with some glasses on all consoles, like the 3d that's big at the cinema now when they release the film on dvd it has a normal version and a 3d version with some glasses you can watch on any t.v, I don't know if it would be any good as I have never bought any of the films, i think it would just add slight depth to the visuals. In all honesty it does not seem worth it when you can buy AA cheap now.

This game should of been supported with plenty of challenge rooms not just a few and a 3d GOTY edition.

To get what im on about look at the DvD release's of UP or Coraline that's thesort of 3d Ithink they might beusing for AA

Sony just developed 3D TVs and they're going to update the PS3 to be able to support 3D gaming. You'll need to wear 3D glasses. They're developing 3D TVs that you wont need the glasses for, but the prototype is around $20,000. So those will probably be a ways off. Maybe in about 5-6 years?

I don't know if MS will do it for the Xbox or not? Possibly.

All you need to make a game 3d is apply a red/blue filter and have 3d glasses.

I am not going to dive into 3D until next gen because we need full 1080P games running at 60FPS in 3D for me to spend anymore money on a newer TV and this dream will not happen with current consoles.

Wtf man? Why're you posting about the ps3 here? Also that's impossible. You would obviously need a "3D TV". Which are sold mostly in Japan.

It comes with special 3D glasses that work with any television

Think movie theaters, the movies play on the same screen, its the film that is altered in a way that when viewed through special lenses it provides a 3D experience. Same deal here

all they have to do is make the game 3D, if they made a 3D game for the 360, all you would need is 3D glasses to get the 3D effect, it doesnt need a "patch" how else do you think they play 3D movies at regular movie theaters? you dont need a 3D TV, or a 3D capable Xbox 360 it's already 3D capable. all you need is a game in 3D and those shweet 3D glasses.

^^^^^^ wrong. If you dont need a 3d tv why are they in the market then?

I hear that the 3d tv will convert 2d signal into 3d. There are specail glasses with software that you can use with regular tv and thats it.

wow really? use common sense, they're making 3d tv's to eliminate the need for the 3D glasses, and by your logic you would NEED a chatpad to send messages on your Xbox.....because their in the market right?

Batman will just be 3D with those blue and red glasses. Anyway, i can't see 3D taking off any time soon. People are still upgrading to HDTV's, I can't see many rushing out to buy new ones that are 3D capable.

MazehcS0ul

agreed, i hate 3d in movies, it hurts my eyes and gives me a headache and just makes the whole experience a lot worse in my opinion, would much rather it was just in simple ordinary HD, as a result i really hope they dont go down the 3d path for games

Yeah after a 2 hour 3d film my head hurts imagine a big on-line session or a RPG you just wouldn't bother. If it can be done in some way you don't need glasses and the image is as crisp as HD were in business, but alas I think holograms are a long, long way off.
