got the 360 on launch day...nov 22nd,05....had the system for quite a few months than I sold it to a friend(had no problems with the system..still going strong)was'nt playing it much....a good couple of months later when they announced xna and alot of games came out(ghost recon etc.)I bought it again..well when I bought it...it broke..got another one...it broke again...got another one...was fine for a few months now...late last night I was playing...screen froze...happened quite a few times before I got the rings of death(red ring)...I called microsoft and they have issued me a service repair or a new system...I have complained to them about my experiences with the system(to which the gentleman was sorry..realizing he did'nt make the system)..regardless..as much of a fan of xbox i am...its time to leave the xbox community..not cause I want too...but because thats the way its meant to be...my friends play on...I go to the dark side..play b3yond..did'nt want it that way......I really did'nt
Wait.. so how many times did you buy a 360? It has a warranty... anything goes wrong they send you another one and/or fix it. Aside from rebuying from your friend.. you should have only paid for it once. If you are buying a PS3 based on that.. you just love to waste money man.
trust me...this is'nt meant to start any 360/ps3/wii talk...just saying as much as I like the 360...and no..it was never in any entertainment cabinet...I realize what air flow is...I just had no luck with it...I hope everyones 360 runs for years and years...mine never do...thats my point...
ppl, we are not playing the 16 bit black boxes of 15 years ago. These are high end tech pieces of equipment, yes they should all work for the most part, but it's a machine and machines break down simple as that

do the newer versions of the 360 work better? or do they **** up too? i dont wanna buy one and have it go all red on me because im probably too lazy to do anything and it'll just sit there for a while untill... something happens.

I for the life of me don't get these people to claim they went through 3, 4, 5 machines...the odds are very small that would happen unless you are doing something to it you shouldn't.....but I have been lucky...launch system still going strong.

Had mine since launch, just tellin my buddy the other day I never had a problem, what happens next... the disc drive craps out. gonna cost me 139$. I have a ps3 but trust me it just dosent have the software yet and I barely touch the thing. I had to go to kmart buy another 360 after a couple days without one but im going to return when my other one gets repaired.

I know its bad, the overheating is probably the biggest problem. They should have come out with that 65nm chip a while ago. I am gonna go get the new systems with that and hopefully any new additions before my extended warrant runs out.

Im on my third, and I made sure to buy the extended warranty on this replacement from MS.
Maybe if you werent stupid stupid enough to sell your system the first time, you wouldnt have to get a ps2.5, anyways farewell and have a great time with all the craptastic games that are coming out for that thing...troll...
I have had some problems with my 360 before but then i just put it on a stand and laded it down flat (not standing up)and i do the xx lb rb xx thing like once a month and it never has any problems.if yours is standing up and your having problems i would put it down falt thats what solved all my problem.or if its a real problem i would get one of those custom kits with the realy fast fans and what not. but thats only if you realy dont what a nother one cuz you have to break the seal.
my launch unit was **** after a week of having it. Out of fury I just stormed back to walmart and got my money back. My current unit has been functioning correctly although there is this weird sound thats coming from my disk drive....like it gets stuck from time to time.

Im 35 and have many consoles and many electronics and I have never had anything do wrong with anything...ever..I have launch systems and still no problems. 360 is the first to have these kinds of troubles. Dont make up excusses for faulty hardware...It doesnt work dude.
that is a really bad luck but if im not worng the PS3 ... as worst problems... i got mine (360) and it works fine ... and here we are at least 5 ppl playing at it.... so... it was a really bad luck m8 :(
