Which 4 player co-op experience is more fun? Left 4 Dead 2 or Borderlands.

Please state your opinion and why.

Use the recommendation thread. Both games are good. L4D is a frantic Zombie co-op experience were team work is a must. Borderlands is frantic too but is more of an RPG with loot, leveling up and other RPG elements involved. Team work is also a must. Both games are great.

Left 4 Dead is far more team oriented, but it is frustrating as hell. I would say Left 4 Dead is THE 4 player co op game this gen. I mean, if you don't have four decent players even passing advanced difficulty will be tough.

GrandJury

why should he use the game recommendation thread? Hes not asking for a recommendation thread. Even if that was in the back of his mind hes not explicitly asking for a recommendation. This is a valid question that deserves a thread of its own. Now, to the TC; i would say that the better co-op experience by far is L4D2. It is way more challenging and its a lot funner. Borderlands co-op is plague with many issues in co-op like always having to deal with level gaps between players which will never make the game balance and thus its hardly ever a constant gaming experience. And, even it was Borderlands on its best day still can't compete with the challenges L4D2 has in its own right. Borderlands was a major disappointment IMO.

Both are very good, but Left4Dead 4 or 8 player action is best imo.

L4D2 by far.

No offense to Borderlands, but i think it is extremely Over-rated. Sure it was a fun game...but its just another shooter. There's nothing special about the combat at all...its just that you level up and get LOTS of guns. It's fun, but it is very over-rated.

L4D2 on the other hand, is EPIC. You basically need a team to be successful (Assuming you are playing on Expert). Plus, there's so much fun to be had with 3 friends, lots of weapons, and lots of zombies.

There's my opinion.

I absolutely love Borderlands, as a single player game. The pvp is also fun but Coop is hit or miss. Level gaps ruin game play. If i higher lvl player joins your game and starts questing in his own area, suddenly your quest log is filled with quests you cant possibly complete or even know where they started. Also players can actually "turn in" YOUR quests and get your rewards. I actually had to ask a guy if i could have that awesome shotgun he just got from turning in my quest. He was cool about it and gave it to me but still.....

Borderlands also has a few bugs when going from multi-player back to single player. I've had grenade upgrades disappear which cost money to replace and numerous other items.

I dont enjoy Left 4 Dead 2 but it is way more team oriented. Borderlands is my favorite game right now but multiplayer has many issues. With "friends" borderlands coop is fun. With people you don't know, it can be a headache but.. the same can be said for L4D2. The difference is its less likely to drastically affect game play in L4D2 than it does with Borderlands.

Yeah its quite okay, we got it. You aren't needed. Maybe you should re-evaluate the method you take to try and help people. Usually the direct approach works best. Your current approach, the d-bag approach, is frowned upon.

Hold on a sec. The D-bag approach? I just told him to use the Recommendation thread and gave him some quick info on both the games. You are the one who started with the thrash talk.

I see one real d-bag in this topic, and it's not GrandJury...

Left 4 Dead seems to be a game where good teamwork is absolutely necessary, especially in the harder difficulties. Borderlands was fun for what it was, but the scalable difficulty with more players never seemed to warrant much strategy. I feel this because my friends and I would always just run through and go Rambo on all the groups of enemies as we encountered them.
