This has been a great game, a mix of Gears of War and Battlestar Gallactica. I was dissappointed at first by the original 8.5 rating, but there are enough issues (such as the constant graphical tearing) that the developers did not address that makes it reasonable to receive a CRITIC'S score of 8.5, even though it is way more fun than the score would reveal. Very glad I played the game and looking forward to part 2. I give it a 9 out of 10!

Since there are only a few days left in 2008, I doubt it! :P
I would not be surprised if it was a holiday 2009 release; but q1 2010 is probably more realistic as ME2 was not shown at any gaming trade shows (IE: E3)
Mass Effect was a game that I had been wanting to play for a long, long time. I absolutely loved it. There were a few small issues, like the texture pop-in, and the same mining "complex" appearing on 20 different planets, but the story and character interaction made up for any other shortcomings.

I doubt that ME2 is very far along especially since they're focusing on Dragon Age Origins. You never know though, it could be in development behind the scenes!

I really enjoyed this game. I have to jump back in one of these days- I haven't come close to completing it. Too many hours (100+) in OBLIVION (another masterpiece)
overrated garbage if u ask me, but please understand that my opinion stems from a year in which i had already owned the 360 for about 18 months and found myself gaming on nothing but the top titles (which was an overwhelming amount of shooters) and i had just got sick of the sight of guns guns and more guns, plus gun combat. like ugh. its ok tho.
mass effect is the best game on the xbox 360 to me, followed by gears 2. before this, i'm not a fan of rpg's, but after playing this game, my perception on rpg changed. hopefully, the sequel will come out in 2009. it's the only one that can help the 360 to be equal to the ps3 in 2009.
I enjoyed Mass Effect, even though the gameplay was terrible. It's really just a Choose Your Own Adventure book with graphics, music, and crappy gameplay attached to it.
Bioware doesn't know how to make good gameplay. Never have, never will.
