i dont have an hdtv up till this point i have been playing on a standard t.v , but i just got a pc monitor that has hd. so if i hook my 360 up to it with a vga cable will the picture be high definition? if so what resolutions does it support thanks in advance.

VGA supports everything up to 1080p. If you want the 360 in HD, you really can't go wrong with the VGA cable. I've been using exclusively since I purchased my 360, and I haven't looked back since.

I did the same thing, and the quality is great. The only thing is that I notice it creates terrible jagged edges on any non-letterboxed game. I was not using a Widescreen monitor however, just a standard one if that had anything to do with it. And I am pretty sure it plays in 720p when using a PC monitor.

thanks for the comments guys i just have one more question is it same quality as an hdtv because if not i might have to cave and buy one but from what you guys say it seems the quality is just as good?

To me, it looks pretty much the same on a good monitor and an HDTV. I dont really examine how they look though

Yes it is the same as an hdtv. If you're playing on a 19in lcd for example you can play at the native resolution, so it will look the same as your computer. It will be full hd on any lcd or crt monitor, but I would recommend playing on native resolution for best results.
