A little help needed please

Just got a monitor so I can play my 360 in my room. Bought a vga cable but I think I need an adaptor to fit between the vga cable and the cable from the monitor?

Also, the vga cable has red and white plugs, but where do I put them? Do I need speakers?

if you have AUX system in your home then you only should plug the red and white ones in it , and for the cable , you can buy a male to female adaptor from any pc hardware shop , its pretty cheap though like 10$zidan4000

Got the visual aspect sorted, got a female female adaptor.

But, what do I do with a set of speakers with no PC or anything to plug the jack into?

Do I simply order one of these:

And plug it into the headphone socket on my speakers?
