I got my 360s about a week ago, and twice my sound completly went out. Both times it happend I was playing Reach, I even went to the dashboard and still no sound. I had to turn my 360 off then back on and it fixed the problem, but I'm already worried.

strange, never heard of such a problem myself, did you try google to look into it to see if anyone has posted a similar issue?

I'm on my 4th 360. I've never had/seen anyone have sound problems.

I've never heard of sound problems either. I'm on my 5th Xbox now. I got one soon after launch and it would only last , an average of about 10 months before I got the RRoD. I swore I would never buy another 360, but then this Slim came out and I though the problems were fixed!

Also, at first I thought is was a good idea to have the fan vents on the top of the 360, but now not so sure, because so much more dust can get in now!

I dont know if i should consider myself lucky, but i still have my 1st XBOX 360 (I think 40 GB one, or 60 GB:?) and i have had it for 3 years now - no RROD, no sound problems, just the occasional "OPEN TRAY" problem which i fix easily...

Gamespot posted shortly after the launch of Reach that some 360 slim users were having techical problems with the game. If your not experiencing problems with other games, don't worry.

I don't have a link, but you can search the news archive and should be able to find it

Reach has been plagued with problems, I would guess it is a direct result of the game.

I have a Slim and have had it since it came out, no problems at all

I don't think it's a reach problem. I just had it happen to me on CoD Black Ops. I've only had my 360s for just a little under a month. It doesn't get played non-stop I log in about an hour or 2 a session and that is only maybe afternoon and late night. Sound cut out in the middle of the game. Had to turn off and restart and then it worked again but the scrolling up and down seemed a little slugish.

Aw man! You just jinxed it. You should've kept your mouth shut! Please send a follow up to this when your console dies this year. :(

Plagued with problems? I played almost every day for the first two or three months of the release and never had any technical issues with Reach.

Are you connected by HDMI? If so, it's a handshaking issue (thank you, stupid HDCP  ). Turning off/on your TV would fix it more readily.

well they still suffer from disc scratching and a form of rrod-instead of the 3 flashing lights its just a dot (red dot of death) so ya everysystem has flaws, even 360 we all knew this from day one , it is supposed to be slightly more reliable but that dont mean errors or bugs or faulty hardware is not there,

its just less likely to accur

On my 1st xbox since 06 and still works smoothly. Although sound is only an issue for me if my wires aren't plugged in correctly. It is unusual to have problems with sound, so my guess it might be a tv problem?
