I'm wondering what you actually do in RTS games.I'm a huge fan of Halo and Clancy so I obviously have intrest in Wars and EndWar.So could someone explain what you do in RTS games?
It really depends on the game. I've played alot of pc rts, my face type of game. The stuff they stick on the 360 like BFME2 and CNC3 really doesn't touch stuff like Company of Heroes, but I think CoH just wouldn't work on 360 unless they let us plug in a mouse and keyboard into the usb ports on the 360 (they should totally do this). I'm not saying pcs RTS play better (they do though...) but the games are better. Ensemble are making Halo Wars, they made Age of Empires, I really don't like Age of Empires. EndWar looks interesting though, we'll see. But on you're actual question, for the sort of games thats on 360. You build up a base, collect some resources, make some units, maybe all at the same time. RTS can be awesome, but cnc3 and bfme2 really are meh games...and thats on the pc where RTS work. But if you want something thats not my heavily bias "give us a mouse and keyboard, or just don't make RTS for 360" view, I suggest you rent CNC3 and take a look.
Most games you have to gather resources to bulid different bulidings and units. With more that you bulid the bigger and better units you can get and upgrade. Then you form an army with all of your units you make and you go destory the other teams bases. Each unit usually has different skills and abilities and the strategy is to combine units together to make a group of units without weaknesses. Endwar seems to be a totally new and different type of RTS, im sure excited about it, but not really sure how the gameplay and all will be.
