I just bought a new Xbox360 and the box says "Pro" on it which I'm assuming is the Premium. It does list that it should include a 20gig hard drive but when I look at the avaible space it only says there is 9.9gigs of free space left. Can anyone explain to me why this is so? Thanks in advance.vietmartyr309
Your console comes pre-loaded with tons of useless crap (ie: demos, videos, ads). You can delete these from the dshboard, just go to the system menu. Also, the 360 comes with program files on the hard drive, all of which cannot be erased (unless you want your 360 to be a paperweight). These program files eat up about 5-6 gigs of usable memory. False advertising ftw. Granted, I haven't ran out of space yet.

Thank you for the quick response, also, how do you find out whether you have a unit with a falcon chip(I believe this is what it's called) in my Xbox 360 as opposed to having an older unit?

Google it there is a serial no. and mfg date to tell you exact details I could give you the link but now I am a little busy.
If u buy a new pc , it says 60gb hard drive on the box but windows n tons of software in there take almost 20gb . So u have 40gb, it;s like same. u can still delete those from your hard drive tho.mert15_2004
You can't remove every single file that a factory-new 360 comes with. Much like that computer you're talking about, the 360's hard drive comes with software that affects the basic functions of the 360. These cannot be deleted. I'm not talking about videos or demos, I'm referring to program files. Without these program files, your 360 wouldn't operate; that's why they can't be deleted.
