How often do they do this. I was considering getting Assassins Creed, Call of Duty 4, and then I could get some other game free. I know the promo going on now lasts only until this Saturday.

i had the same train of thought. future releases aren't part of the deal, unfortunately. assassins creed isn't even listed anywhere on their site, either.

there aren't 3 current games that i want badly enough for this deal to work for me. oh well.

i would have picked up: CoD4, Guitar hero 3 (game only) and rock band (full set).

No, it's a smart move. It helps them move the early merchandise and make sales that they wouldn't otherwise. See, people will go "Wow, great deal" and go buy games that they wouldn't have necessarily bought anyway. Particularly since it's close enough to the Christmas shopping season. Now, when the later, "bigger" games come out they will buy those too and hopefully remember that they can get them at TRU. Thus, TRU just got more business.

They do this once a year, usually around the same time.

I picked up PGR4, Blazing Angels 2, and Orange Box. Also grabbed Zelda: PH while I was there.

Started today at opening and is all week, but I'd go ASAP if there's particular games you want.

I just read on google that the deal is only for last gen games. Can I get 3 360 games for the price of 2 or is this only for last gen games ?

Look at the list of games I posted in my 1st post and take a guess ;) **HINT: yes, 360 games count.

Grab the deal everyone. This is once a year event at TRU.

In previous years, I know people would buy games they didn't really want (new release), then when a game they did want was released, they'd take them back and exchange them. Some had gotten away with it in prior years, but some didn't. So, take it for what it's worth.

Yeah, they do that every year. I took advantage of it 2 years ago, but not last year.

That doesn't work anymore. They just wipe the 3rd free game off so you don't get money back either.

This is highly possible. I've never done it myself, so I have no experience with it at all, but doesn't TRU give exchanges if you don't have a receipt? I know you couldn't get money for an exchange, but couldn't you get store credit?

I even recall some posting; in years past, that they'd return them to Walmart even (LOL). I'm not advocating, mind ya, I'm just asking and have no plans on doing any such thing myself.
