i usually do not care about achievements but they do give me a motive to go back and play a game sometimes, i would never have played kung-fu panda, but i played parts of it due to it having easy achievements?
I'm between 3 and 4. I like achievements cuz they only make the gmeing experience better and they give you something to work towards.
I'd say that I'm between 3 and 4.
I will always look to see what achievements a game has and then strive to get as many as i can, althout i will not devote my life to getting every achievement in every game that i have. I just try to ensure that before i get rid of a game i will have got the achievements thati can and have a relatively high gamerscore for that game (600+).
Hey all, I'm currently working on doing some research for a feature I'm writing on achievement systems in gaming for TWGnews.com, and I was wondering if you could help me out. I wanted to see if achievements effect the way gamers play or look at their games. So do you... 1 - Not care about Achievements 2 - Get what Achievements you can, but only casually 3 - Strive for Achievements, so long as you're rewarded (bonus game features, unlockables) 4 - Need to get every single Achievement known to man, so you can show your gaming prowess for all to see So share your thoughts, opinions and musings on achievements, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!OneAngryDwarf
#3 for me
I guess one and two i barely go for achievements unless they look fun. Also unlockables i beat Clive Barker's Jericho on hard just for the bestiary.
I would say that I'm between 3 and 4. I get as many achievements as I can. However, I only get them if they are kind of easy. Like replaying games and things like that. I try to get lots of multiplayer ones but some, such as weapon exclusive ones, I don't really go for because I may or may not be good with it like some of the Halo 3 ones.
It's a tossup between 2 and 3. On Xbox, it's definitely 2. I like the feeling of doing something, then going, "Oh hey, that was pretty cool." and being rewarded for it, but gamerscore doesn't matter to me at all. On Team Fortress 2 (Steam) I was at 5/170 until I realised that there were unlockables. I pretty much played religiously every day until I unlocked all the weapons/items that were available for my characters, and I don't think I'm going to go back for any more achievements but just for the enjoyment of the game.
no. i think they should remove achievements already

 this comes from someone that has more than 20,000 points
I think I'm 2, I love achievements but I won't do anything really hard, time consuming, boring or waste money for achievements
I really like achievements, I find they add alot to the replayability of a game. For example, I've beaten CoD4 and Halo 3 on their hardest difficulty settings for the achievements but I probably wouldn't have without achievments. I like the idea of getting points for progressing through a game and for doing things I wouldn't normaly do, even if the points are worthless. I wouldn't buy a game only for achievements though.
