could you go back to not playing it in HD. Do you feel you have more fun playing games in HD? the reason i'm asking is i'm trying to prove a point to my friend that playing in HD makes a world of difference, and once you go HD with games you dont go back...anyone feel me on this one?

uhhh no, if you enjoy a game because it's sharper than it would be on a regular tv, then you must be with those Graphics>Gameplay people

I don't care that much about graphics.

Nice graphics are... well... nice, but gameplay makes the game.

Although it does make the game appeal more to me if it looks great, I still go and play my PS2 sometimes because the games are just so fun

Meh, my friend has an HDTV and we were playing Call Of Duty and Assassins Creed. I mean the graphics were better but it didnt put any new perspectives into my mind. I'm happy with my normal TV. But thats not saying I woulden't use an HDTV over a normal one.

Until last week I played all my games on a standard TV, then I bought a new 19" wide screen monitor and one of those official VGA cables for the 360. The difference is pretty damn amazing, I went back to the TV to compare and it looked horrible. I will never go back. HD is another level.

USed to be I would say 'yes, HD make all of the difference'. Was about to say the same here but then I noticed that the last three games I have played are either original Xbox titles or are older titles off of arcade so they really aren't HD.

Good way to think of it is "Would you rather play a good looking game with crappy game play or an average looking game with excellent gameplay?"

You are clearly misinterpreting what he is saying. Automatically assuming he is a certain type of person is stupid and lame.

As for the topic... yes... I do enjoy playing my games in HD; but it's not necessarily a gamebreaking factor for me.

It doesn't matter too much to me. I mean, if a game comes out that has revolutionary gameplay but the graphics are especially atrocious I would not enjoy the game. Likewise, if a game has revolutionary graphics but the gamplay was especially atrocious I would not enjoy the game. That being said, I enjoy a happy medium. I can still play N64 games and enjoy them as much as I would when they first came out.

everyone answering this is giving the old gameplay is better than graphics speech. but if youre talking about the SAME GAME, on HD or SD.. HD blows it out of the water. i mean, lots of 360 games you cant even read the text on SD!!

Well that's pretty self explanatory, if someone had a choice between HD and SD I'm pretty sure NO ONE would choose SD, unless maybe they didn't know what the difference is

I doubt it. I'm playing DMC1 & 3 right now along sinde 4. And they look way worse than any well made 360 game wil look in SD.

The game play is what matters. Being able to see how shiny the floor are in Half-Life 2 didn't add that much to the game. The game was great to begin with.;)

well yeah thats what this topic is about right? i could never play my 360 on a SD, been playing in HD since i got it. of course i dont mind playing my older systems still in SD... cuz they dont have HD graphics... this whole topic is self explanatory people are dumb and want to sound like 'real gamers' and start going off with "GAMEPLAYZ R BETTER THAN TEH GRAFIXX" when this topic wasnt about that.

It really depends, for a shooter/action game, HD really makes all the difference in my opinion. As for RPGs and other similar games, I still play PS1 titles because the games are so good. So it really depends on the game for me.

Your topic is so ambiguous, what do you mean, could I go back to regular t.v? Under what circumstances? Do u mean to say if my HDTV broke and I have to use a SDTV, will I have the patience to just wait a little and just save my money until I can get another decent HDTV? Or do you mean If I go to my friends house and he as a SDTV I will not play just because is an SDTV?? I mean I still play Mario Kart 64 and Goldeneye and that not very eye catchy but is fun.....either way I still have fun with an HDTV or a SDTV....

Try plaing Dead Rising in SD after playing in HD. I mean, if you don't want to be able to read the text on-screen then ok. For me, I don't want to go back. It isn't about graphics over gameplay, but graphics are part of the package. I like to see the details that you can't see in SD.

Good lord. You guys certainly disected that question. I think one person got it right. After going from SD to HD....no, I would definetly not go back. I showed my friend GOW on my HD TV. After that he ran out and got himself an HD TV because he finally seen what he was missing.

Yeah I probably wouldn't play an X360 game on a SD anymore because I've already adjusted but I play my PS2 all the time so graphics aren't that important, still a nice touch though.

No way.

I took my 360 over to a friends house about 2 weeks ago and hooked it up to his big screen standard-def TV. I was actually shocked at how bad it looked. I could tell right when the dashboard loaded up.

We played through Halo 3 and Gears of War, and eventually I got used to it. When I took my 360 back home and hooked it back up to my high-def TV I was amazed at how clear it was all over again!

i cant play games like Dead rising on standard tvs. the reason is the tiny tiny text. You cant read it on a standard (blurry) tv. They created the games for HD, so it really plays best in 720 or 1080p.

some games that are not HD are still fun, like Guitar Hero on the PS2. but yeah, it makes a huge difference in racing games. I will probably never play a ps2 racing game after playing Forza2 and Project Gotham racing3. and the same with games like COD4. You just get immersed more with the HD graphics. Thats how i see it.
