Is it new and exciting and worth $60? Or does it play like every past Halo game on the market save for some new locales, guns, and updated graphics? Put aside the hype and be honest, I really want to know.

So far it's pretty good. My only complaints are that the framerate isn't stable at times and that there's a weird ghosting effect during cutscenes sometimes.
I've noticed a little bit of that too, but it's not a game breaker for me. But I've only played through a bit of the first chapter of the campaign. I do have to be at work today. From what I've played, it feels much more gritty and the weapons feel like they have more weight and impact than past Halos. But it still feels like Halo, which is a good thing. So far it's pretty good. only played the multiplayer, waiting til friday til my wife and I can have time to play it together. but the multiplayer is pretty sick.
ive only played maybe 1 and a half hours, but i say its well worth 60 bucks. Im not even that big of a fan of halo. or xbox for that matter, but this one is a must for 360 owners
I played for two hours online so far and i love it only downside is ass wholes backing out early but there is nothing you can do about that
I just finished it. Going into Halo Reach, I was hoping that it would veer away from it's predecessors. It does just that, but I couldn't help but feel like Bungie was trying to do an ODST throwback into the second half of the game. While the first half of Halo Reach, felt like a whole 'nother Halo game. It was action-packed, cinematic, gripping, and there was so much variety. Towards the end, I felt like Bungie ran out of steam.. or maybe it's because they had to stick to the story and be true. I dont know. The ending was disappointing.
The friendly A.I. is terrible... and enemy A.I. is much improved, smarter, faster, and more challenging which gives the game great replay value. But be prepared to be overpowered in some firefights. And drones are stronger now, and throw sticky grenades like nobody's business lol. Space Combat was fun, but not as epic as I imagined it would be. They could have done more with it.
I'm upset with some of the outcomes for the members of Noble Team. Let's just leave it at that with no spoilers. Overall, Halo Reach would have been a better game had they put in 2-3 hours more into. I thought it was short and I could have easily finished it in one sitting.
I'd also like to mention that there is MOTION BLUR, which I absolutely hated or ghosting? I dont know. It was just weird and hard on my eyes and vision.
Graphics, much much better. But don't expect to be floored though, but it's a huge improvement over Halo 3.
Vehicles and their controls is a hit and miss. While the Warthog controls incredibly well, now with suspension, shock, springs, and badass drifting. You can maneuver with ease and control the battlefield. On the other hand, the Scorpion controls like ****. It made me want to throw my controller at the wall. Other vehicles controlled well.
Voice acting is great. I have only played the single player campaign though.

Will do. :) I plan to write up a full review later today.Trolling already . want me to post a video of me putting the disk in the tray, playing the game, then getting kicked to menu with error: disk unreadable? the game is broken, its incompatable with the original release consoles disk drive[QUOTE="Overlord93"]

For me Bungie spend to much time on multiplayer but did not focus to much on the Campagin. But got to admit Bungie's expermental on Reach and ODST was pretty good. Graphics are top noch and the controls really sharp and could got me back to my skill on the old Halo (1,2 and 3). Custom armor is pretty nice and good extras. Don't won't to spoil it though

I like it a lot so far but the framerate drops can be pretty annoying sometimes, especially in firefight. Sometimes it was stuttering so bad that it threw off my aim, i wish Bungie would've just decreased some effects for firefight so it can be played smoother. I'm not sure if this is an issue in normal versus game types but probably not, seeing as there are only 16 players max.

How about you look it up. its nothing to do with the disk. I have the same problem with my brand new copy of ODST, with Halo 3, and now Reach also. thats more than coincidence dude :roll:Why is it that when any other game comes out there's a sticky for that game and if I make a thread that remotely mentions that game I get modded for not posting in the sticky, but I come on here and 95% of the front page is "OMG OMG OMG HALO!!! OMG HALO IS OUT OMG HALO!!"???
Yeah, I'm rather suprised theres no reach sticky :?Why is it that when any other game comes out there's a sticky for that game and if I make a thread that remotely mentions that game I get modded for not posting in the sticky, but I come on here and 95% of the front page is "OMG OMG OMG HALO!!! I never did like any of the Halo games though I do like this one quite a bit. I like how you can respawn in selected locales (in some game modes) and I like the increased customization options. I only wish you can select specific weapons during Matchmaking.
I also am yearning for the option to choose specific gameplay types in Matchmaking. I could honestly say I could play Infected all day.
I love the grittier world in the Campaign. I've played only the first mission but it had some of the most beautiful scenes I've encountered in a videogame yet.
I thank Jesus I braved the 6 block walk in Newark to get it.
