After hearing the news regarding an always online connected Xbox, has your excitement for the new console waned, or expected from all of the rumours to this point? I'm surprised that MS is heading in this direction considering that many people don't or can't have their consoles connected online. It seems like it will cater to a nice audience and a loss of potential sales. What do you guys think? Is MS dead to you?

If, and only If, the next Xbox features always-on DRM, then i am getting the PS4. 100% certain of it. Let's wait and see.

It's not far from the truth, I think they are being smart and waiting on consumer reaction so they will have time to back-peddle!!! And you bet to believe Sony is watching how this whole thing plays out also!

Forums are meant for conversation on the happenings of the industry. This rumor has been getting a huge amount of attention. If it were a positive rumor there would be no problem talking about it. OT It will only effect what I will buy at launch. I will certainly buy one eventually but the PS4 is what my eye is on now. If Microsoft kills it with awesome IPs at launch I might still consider an Xbox but they have to be really good.

I don't believe anything until I see it; I haven't seen the new Xbox so it would be foolish to write it off already.

If it does have to pick up a constant internet connection just to play a game I will not buy it, however.

If it requires a constant internet connection to play games, it's an instant no buy from me. I'll get a PS4 instead, or a PC.

It won't matter even if they scrap the idea before launch, once they sell enough units they will just release an update and make it online only anyway. Not much people can do about it once they have already bought the console. Microsuck are a bunch of assholes. I have two 360's but I will not be buying the nextbox.

It's not like I will be missing anything anyway, except maybe Gears 7, Forza 10 and Halo 15.

I don't think it'll be an always online requirement, if it did require always online it'd be a deal breaker for me, but I'm likely not to believe it because of one simple reason, it's not necessary. If their goal was to tackle a used game market then always online isn't necessary, it can be accomplished by simply doing game activation, much like how PC games work these days, online would be required only as far as initial activation goes, but beyond that many games play offline. That's pretty much how digital download games work these days, if you're playing from the console rights are tied to then no online is required. However, if you attempt to move the files to another console, then you must remain logged into the account the rights are tied to, the reason for that deals with anti-piracy. Given that most the leaks deal with no used games and not strict anti-piracy makes me think people got this wrong. There is a difference between online requirement and and always online requirement. One would only need online for activation in an online requirement. An always online requirement would be too heavy handed to the point I think they'd be shooting themselves in the foot, and I'd like to think they're smarter than that. But, it it only amounts to requiring online for game activation, I can definitely live with that. I'm inclined not to buy the latest round of rumors though, a $500 console, for the currently rumored specs, having hard time believing that. If it really is $500 then I hope it's because of that rumored 2 APUs.

My excitement has both waned a little in that it will complicate things for me to have an always on connection but I'm confident in Xbox, I'm anticipating greatly what the new Xbox will have and to be a part of their always on-something revolutionary. Im an Xbox loyalist-always on or not.:)

IF true. I will pretty much 100% stay away from it... There is absolutely NO reason for it.
