I'm not particularly fond of it either. However, it's an amazing technical achievement and can be fun co-op, but I cannot honestly see myself sitting down and playing that game by myself...

Yep, it is a good game WHILE IT LASTS. Fun game with superb graphics, but just WAY too short and incomplete of a single player campaign. Too many gaps they left unfilled and too many things that they left out of the game that would have made it SO much better....such as a battle with BRUMAK and more vehicle levels for example.
Gears was fantastic, but once you'd completed the game and got most of the MP achievments (which doesn't really take very long) it gets boring very quickly.
One of my friends hates the game as well. I like it, but once I actually got every achievement for the game I can't play it again. It is to boring and not even fun anymore. It is still an amazing step for the 360 graphic wise though and that is what I like to see :).
