No point in me connecting it up now anyway, I ran out of Live.

Anyway, yes I also do what you do.

Probably would if I had Gold, but I'm content with Silver being that I do not care too much for on-line gaming.

Why don't you just turn off your notifications? And / or appear "offline" so no one will bother you.

Yeah I do the same its no ones fault but a learnt the hard way when trying to play Bioshock and Dead Space for the first time getting invites while trying to listen to cut scenes and the story is a pain, so instead of signing in going down to edit profile then blocking online status the reseting the console I just unplug my network adapter.

Bingo, same here. Some singleplayer games (Oblivion) require you to be online to load DLC. I usually set myself to Busy when playing Mass Effect. The notification balloon precisely covers up the coversation wheel, which drives me ****ing nuts.

For me it really depends on how I feel. Sometimes I do, sometimes I log in but put "away" up.....what ever.

I wont even play my 360 if my net is out because then I just get spammed with messages saying I cheat if I have 1k+ more gamerscore next time I log in. If the pop ups of people logging on annoy me I just delete them or turn notifications off.

It doesn't bug me at all. I actually like all those bubbles and notifications. Makes online gaming feel interactive and "connected." To each their own.

i do however turn them off if im watching a movie or something, nothing more annoying than pop ups interrupting ur film

yeah i should do that. sometimes i get a message from my gf that will say "are you playing a game?" because she has msn messenger and it shows my xboxlive account on there.

it makes sense if you want to play an offline 1player game like Fallout3 or something for an extended period of time w/o interruptions on the screen.

If I get an invite to something I ignore it unless I'm playing that game. It's kind of irritating when someone spams me with MW2 invites while I'm playing Mass Effect, but I like to know who's online.

The only time I actually disconnect is if I told a real-life friend I was too busy to go out with them (because I didn't feel like it) and I'm playing Xbox instead ;P

I leave it online the entire time. I can't be bothered to reach to the back of my Xbox to take my cable in and out all the time. Long live laziness. Also, the popups doesn't annoy me at all :P

No. I usually don't get invites, or just ignore them. I enjoy talking to people while playing if someone wants to, it's the reason I like the 360 more than the PS3 and Wii and why I almost always buy multiplatform games for it.

I never connect online for single player games. There's no point. My Xbox is never set up to the internet unless I'm playing an online game.

Just turn off notifications.

To answer your question I always stay connected to Xbox LIVE. Sometimes I like to play single player games and talk to my friends as well.
