So I wanted to buy perfect dark. Ok its 800 points= $10. So I go to buy the points I need and guess what you can't just buy 800 points. No you have to buy 1000 points= $12.50. That is so annoying.

Its how they make money. Its like buying a gift card, there will be a tiny amount left after using it, something like $1.00, but thats profit for the company.
dont bank on it being your last tho. ya undastand? close this threadDangerHiVoltageI had my X360 for about 3 years now and I never bought a single DLC or a arcade game. Though on the wii I did buy a few VC games. But on the wii N64 games cost 1000 points and you could buy 1000 points.
you have to pay for DLC w/ the PS3 too.its not really up to Microsoft though, i believe the devs set the price.
not if you buy games from D.I.C.E. they give out free dlc...and you shouldn't mention the "other" systems hereyou have to pay for DLC w/ the PS3 too.its not really up to Microsoft though, i believe the devs set the price.

I agree with this. I don't mean to start an argument, but why can't it work like the "other" system, where if you buy something for $5.99, you pay $5.99. You don't have to go out and buy points that will go to waste.
i agree to this point, some people only want to buy one or two things at most and can only buy set amounts of points, so they have left over points they have no use for ( tho you could always spend them on avatar/themes/pics/etc ) its not a problem for alot of people tho, as we go out and buy a big points card and just use them as stuff comes out that we want to getI agree with this. I do hate it TC, but It's better then being a cheap little bastard that whines over things so much, but again, I do hate buying Microsoft Points, but I got to for the DLC.
I happen to like them because I don't have to input any of my bank card info and well one less place to have to do that is always good. Yes, some times you will be left with a few points and that can be a bit annoying but after a while you may buy another card and then with its left over you may have enough to buy a killer arcade game during a deal of the week sale.
yes it's soo stupid how everything is charged in increments of 4, like 400, 800, or 1200 ms points, but you have to buy points with a credit card in 500, 1000, or 2000 points.
Microsoft is purposely making us buy more points than we need and we are getting robbed. If you don't have a problem with this, then I don't think you realize what microsoft is doing or you don't care about the fact that you're wasting money. Sure you can use the extra points for a theme or something, but did you really want that theme? It's BS. But it's not really a big deal I guess, i'm just ranting lol.
Meh, it's not ideal, but like people have said most people will have future purchases to make. You're just paying a bit extra now to use those points down the line. And I believe Amazon solves that problem for you if you just want to buy the game/dlc using monetary values. Gotta love Amazon.
I had 20 pts on my account for over a year then I bought the new Turtles in Time - had to buy 500 pts and now I have 120 sitting in the account. I hate MS points as well.
Yeah, buying wooden nickels is annoying. What's really annoying is how you don't get a deal for buying a lot of them. You'd think they'd be cheaper if you got more.
Palantas
You would think. :)
Honestly, I would probably buy more points more often if there was some kind of deal like that.
