About 99% of the people who play COD4 are annoying. Their all cocky, arrogant pricks. The best part is, their not even that good! I merc 70% of the games I join. (Sorry, I sound like a hypocrite here, but it's true)

No you aren't the only one. I run into these types of people too. My PERSONAL favorites are the ones who think they are cool by rapping the lyrics to a rap song while they play. Regardless if anyone cares or not. Why do they do this? I don't know but honestly it's stupid and annoying. The thing is tho as long as people have access to this type of thing there will be morons. The same scenario was experienced in SoCom 2 and 3 for PS2. There were the same "too serious" gamers, trash talking racist 12 year olds and the ghetto hardcore rapper who rapped out the lyrics to the hottest "jam" out at the time. If PSN offered free headsets these same people would be on there too. Simply mute them or ignore them. It won't go away.

Socom Confrontation offers a free headset with the purchase of a game, also I ran into the same issues as you on Socom 2 and 3 along with the code 9'ers.

Great! There goes the neighborhood. Anyway I HATED playing SoCom when my clan wasn't on since that's all I had to deal with so trying to play a game and enjoy it was frustrating. Now I tend to just play games with my friends over LIVE and try to stay away from random people. COD4 is notorious for this type of thing. So much so that I got sick of it and traded it in and never looked back.
The every-other-word-is-a-swear-word type, the wannabe-gangsta type, the wannabe-singer, the have-mike-but-don't-communicate type, and the pot-smoking-stoner-constantly-talking-about-how-much-of-a-stoner-he-is type are really annoying. I go through periods where I stop doing anything multiplayer versus on Live because of this.
I still think XBL is worth every penny due to many games now supporting co-op play. And, you can find some pretty decent people to play with most of the time. It is just when you get the aforementioned types in succession that you are kinda turned off to online gaming for a while.

Yea I agree with you. LIVE is worth it's fee and yes these people do suck and shy you away from online sometimes.
