Is it just me? Recently I picked up Assassins Creed Master Assassins Edition and I just pre-ordered the AVP Hunters Edition and Splinter Cell Convictions Hardened edition. Does anyone else like them? Why or why not?

The best reason for getting the limited- or special editions are the promocodes that often comes along. Beats paying for DLC's later on but im not sure its worth the extra bucks.

I bought Halo 2 S.E. & Oblivion C.E. and thats it. I will never buy another. They are a rip. The only way I would get one is on clearence. The extras just are not worth it and gaming is enough money as is.
Depends on the game and what the content is included. lately i reserved and paid for mass effect and splinter cell fully paid for.
I would get them, because I like to collect stuff.
However I has no moniez so I can only get the real CE's that I want, like Mass Effect 2.
Considering that most 'special editions' dont come with anything that justifies the increased price(for me), no....I do *not* buy special edition games.
Seems like a marketing ploy more than anything, considering that special editions dont exactly avoid the inevitable drop in value that normal editions do.
But it likes anything else. If you find the extra stuff worth the price, then go for it.
i tend to always buy the special edition only game ive passed up lately with a special editon was halo odst cause it was crap
im waiting for my mass effect ce and my bioshock 2 le
im really excited for them
No offense but thats a stupid question. If you were the only one then publishers wouldnt see any point in producing special editions if only one person was willing to buy them.....vashkey
Depends on the game and what the LE offers. For example I could not resist on not getting the LE version of Fallout 3. Lunchbox and the bobblehead were pure win.
It really depends whats offered and for what price. Though i have a thing for figurines as well. Its a cool little extra to put on display. :)
buy some if im really interested in the game or if they are so limited that I can make a profit by selling them
So i am getting the ME2 Collectors and I got the fallout 3 collectors, im very interested in game developement so I love the DVD and I also love the artbooks that come with them
however if they are a ridiculous price then I wont bother,

I normally would never buy them.. ever. However I have in the past when I had no choice. I recall once I went to buy the game Bully (PS2) and I went into GameStop and they had the normal version for 50$ and the special edition (which came with a dodgeball) for 60$. Well this was back in the day when PS2 games were 40$ new and I knew I was being ripped off so I went to another GameStop nearby and sure enough the special edition was 50$ (unfortunately they were sold out with the regular versions) so I decided to get the special edition. I figured I was going to pay 50$ anyway.. might as well get something extra for it instead of being ripped off at the other GameStop.wwervinThe other GameStop would have marked it down, considering they are a corporation and prices are the same across all stores. Chances are someone was too lazy to change a price or was just wrong in telling you, and it would have rung up cheaper.
