My friends claim they have it on their dashboards, but all i have is a message saying "Apologies for the delay"

Same here. It's out but I think you have to get it through sky.com or something. I couldn't find the actual player anywhere on Xbox.

No, you have to pay for each channel unless you have a premium Sky subscription (Sky TV + Broadband). Not that it matters to you, with that Motorola Surf Board of yours! :P

If you dont have sky its £15 a month for 20 quite frankly sh!t channels and 4 (YES 4!!!) programmes from Sky 1 on demand. This is without a doubt the worst Television deal I have ever seen. And it all relies on the Xbox servers working constantly!!! LOL

On my dash i only have the apology too, online it says you get it through the video marketplace. I guess we just have to wait until they roll it out properly, and if you imagine the incompetence of Microsoft staff working together with the fabulous sky people :) who knows how long that could be?! The only good thins about the skyplayer is that if you already pay for sky and the broadband (which i do) then its like a free multi-room that you can adapt independently from the main system. I.e if you are living with your parents and they pay for sky, but you want sky sports 1, you can pay for it and only get it in your room. A bonus? perhaps. A necessity? only if its free!

I doubt that we will see anything of it for about a week at least. And just to put your hopes down a little more...do you really think that the stream quality will be that good? i mean we all have been in the situation where we are waiting around for a 4 minute youtube video to load...what do you think it'll be like for a 20 minute show...or a 90 minute football match? sure i appreciate that it doesn't have to fully load first...but who can really say they get the full 10 megs from their 10Mb unlimited connection?

And still we have no sky player - I try in the morning, and the evening, and nothing. I used to get the apology on the dashboard, but now there is not even a mention of sky player anywhere! What a shambles! all I have been hearing about for months was how good it is going to be, and how great the launch will be...this is the biggest anticlimax I have possibly ever experienced. One has to wonder if this is another advertising ploy to get demand for the 360 back up to an acceptable level - wherein they announce its all gone pear shaped and it will be a feature on the next Xbox instead...when its too late because the pocket-money is all gone! You probably can tell, one is not amused.

Microsoft have already put it on the dashboard twice, but due to technical errors it had to be removed. Your friends probably downloaded it in the short period, like I did.

Personnaly I think Sky Player is terrible anyway, I have my xbox to play games, not to watch the same television I can watch downstairs with my family anyway.

i got the sky player last week. its well cool. i believe it will be back up for d/l wednesday. You had to be a sado like me it was up and running well early last tuesday. by midday it crashed. its working fine now. suggest you all get up early wednesday morning to down load it as its bound to crash again.
