[QUOTE="AnotherMulligan"]I thought legendary might be cool. Unfortunately, it's supposed to be one of the worst games available.jrabbit99me tooAgreed.
army of two.dat game was a huge joke with hype it gotTR3boii
why do people diss army of two, i had no problem with that game.
but fable 2, omg what a let down after being hyped by everyone
o ya definetly madden 09 they took a downgrade in the graphics and the recievers catch the same way every time and there were plenty other thingsjrorl63Downgrade in graphics? No way, play 08 and then pop in 09. Noticeable difference. If anything with the receivers it would be the number of dropped balls. It's ridiculous.
personally id have to say too human or unreal tornament 3 for 360. i was really looking forward to both of those and i must have played them for an hour each before binning them
Far Cry 2. I reviewed the game in a message to a friend. Quoting myself:
This game is garbage. "Disappointment" is an extreme understatement here.
Let me give you the lowdown on how every single mission in this game is going to go:
- You drive for an hour to the guy who gives you the mission.
- He gives you the mission. You pray it's near a bus station. Your prayers aren't answered.
- You drive for two and half hours.
- On the way, you will be attacked by absolutely everything that sees you. There are guard posts everywhere. Each of these has about 7 douchebags. Every time you go within a ****ing mile of a post, all 7 start shooting at you and your vehicle. If, by some divine miracle, you manage to get away from them while your vehicle is only slightly damaged, they will grab trucks with mounted machine guns and chase you down. They will damage your car to the point in which you have to stop to make repairs. At this point, you get out, kill them with any gun you have available to you. Repeat for the 568 more guard posts that you will go through on the way to your objective.
- A week later, you get close to your objective, but realize that that brand new MP5 you left town with is now on the verge of blowing the **** up and jams itself with every other bullet you fire.
- You backtrack a few million miles to the nearest weapons shop and get yourself a replacement.
- You make it to your objective with your MP5 only slightly ****ed up. You kill/maim/intimidate the objective.
- You get to drive all the way back to town for another mission. Hooray.
Repeat 32 more times, and you finish the game.
L4D was a bad joke from Valve.
Edit: I don't like to flame games, that's not me. But the demo for L4D was such a letdown, maybe I should have played it co-op instead of solo. I know the retail version is funner with friends so I might play it one day. It's just that first the game has to prove to me that's it worth it to play with a friend. The demo did not do that for me.I got 2
Far Cry 2 due to the repetitveness and the long times it took to get from mission to mission (bus stations did help but not THAT much)
Frontlines:Fuel of War. The commercials made it look like so much fun and i never really looked into it so i bought it, beat it, played some XBL and left it on the shelf. Very generic.
Mine would be Farcry 2. Mainly cuz of long rides from mission to mission. 20 mins to get there 5 mins to beat it and so on. Didn't like gunjams either...AlwaysHaveHopeYou know about the bus stations, right? You should also pick up new weapons at the gun dealer every time you finish a mission. That way you have new weapons that won't fail. Also upgrade the reliability and accuracy of your favorite weapons so you can get more out of them. Never pick up enemies weapons unless you're in a pinch. Those are the ones that usually jam at the least opportune moment. Honestly, I like FarCry2 a lot. Much more then any other shooter this year. That even includes CoD:WaW. After playing FarCry2, running into invisible barriers feels so 1998. I hate feeling like I'm forced to go a certain direction, like there's no way around an encounter or only one way to complete a mission and what's exactly how WaW feels. I know the purpose is to be cinematic and that's the reason for it, for all the scripted events, but it just feels outdated now. If there was a game that I was really disappointed in this year it would have to be Battlefield: Bad Company. Even after the updates, the game is still horrible. It just feels broken.
WARNING MAY CONTAIN GEARS 2 SPOILERS
Now, don't get me wrong, I loved Gears of War 2. But the ending boss was GARBAGE!!!!!!!!! It took like 30 seconds to kill on insane mode. It was harder for me to kill a Reaver on insane than kill the final boss! When I looked at it I was like, "Omfg that thing is f****** beast!" But it's not. At all.

far cry 2 was such a joke, i played it for an hour, and i couldn't handle it anymore. i couldn't see what the **** was shooting at me 9/10 of the time, and i got ambushed every 50 yards. what a JOKE!!
that, as well as the gears 2 final boss. i agree with the person above me, it took 0 skill to beat, i just held down r trigger for 20 seconds o.O talk about buzz killington :S
Need For Speed: Undercover. Whilst barely understanding what I am doing through some of the missions, the only thing i liked about the game was the graphics. Midnight Club LA is so much better in comparison. Need For Speed gets worse and worse.
I for one was also disappointed with Bioshock. I didn't really like the setting, theme, sounds or graphics. I was suprised considering i heard such good news about it.
Fable 2 wasn't as good as i thought it would be, too.
Im very suprised that Legendary has supposedly turned out to be awful, it really had the potential to be amazing.

The online's not sh*tty. It's sketchy to an extent but not as bad as you "think" it is. The diamond upgrade aspect is a decent way of leveling up your weapon classes seeing that the whole game is based around diamonds. Some weapons may not be great but not crappy. It is one of the better games of the year. Play the game enough to talk crap about it. Mine would be Farcry 2. Mainly cuz of long rides from mission to mission. 20 mins to get there 5 mins to beat it and so on. Didn't like gunjams either...
There are a few things I really don't like about FarCry 2, but I still like the game over all. It clicks with me, but I can see why others would hate it.
On topic I didn't play any bad games in 2008, I guess I'm easily pleased. I even liked that free Dorito game for about 30 minutes.

Agree with both statements. Loved gears 2 but the end boss was a joke. I thought FC2 was terrible for the reasons given above as well. I tried to give it a chance but the more I played the more I disliked it. It's now listed on ebay.
