Another Broken 360!!!!

After about 45min call to microsoft reps about my broken 360 they told me that my xbox wasnt under warranty for a broken drive, as this isnt a common problem.. after i stopped laughing/screaming i asked him how many times he had said this to some one.. which he declined to comment on!! he told me that he could fix it but it would cost £60.. i told him to forget it as a new xbox is now only £150 and i didnt want to take the chance on a refurb breaking down again.. + i probebly would of missed GTA launch.... any way after looking on the internet i found a guide on youtube to fix the problem (openend it up, removed the drive and glued the drive magnet back in) which has worked so far.. got me wondering just how many xboxs have actually broken down?????? and for what???? so if anyone else is intrested or even bothered i started this thread to see.. p.s i like my xbox and play all the time and i will be getting a ps3 when mgs finally comes out...

Well thats a new one, but I will keep in mind the Youtube thing if I ever have that issue.

The only problems I have had with Xbox 360's is the classic RROD.

I don't see why people pay other people loads of money when they could just buy the oem parts and fix it themselves.

Personally, I've had to open my 360 at least twice to fix it.

I use to be a 360 owner. The system is awesome but has a lot of problems. Atleast the RROD. What problems have you seen for the PS3 besides the lack of games?

You obviusly have not had to deal with those people. They have no idea what they are doing. You ask a question and then they ask you to repeat it as they don't speak good english. So you do and they ask you several more times. Finally when they know what you are talking about they have to put you on hold so they can contact someone else to find out what the problem is. 5-10 minutes later they finally get back to you only to tell you the answer to a totally different question. So you have to get them to understand what you are trying to say yet again. I have had this happen to me more than once[not every time though] and it is a real pain in the ass.

On topic I had to send my system in about 5 months ago as I got the RRoD. Well about 1 month ago the system stopped reading disks. It kept saying that it was unplayable. I could watch movies and listen to CDs on it though. I called the support line and about an hour later found out it would cost me $99 to get it fixed. I went out and bought a lens cleaner and used it. Now my system works just fine and it only cost me $13.95.

I don't even know if PS3 is reliable I never use it. Yeah I played Uncharted and thats about it. It's even a cappy Blu-Ray player DVDs upconverted look just as good, and there not letterboxed like Blu-Ray discs movies are.

Well Xbox 360 is by far the best gaming console in the world!

ps3 the only reason im getting one is for blueray anothing more.

I had 3 ps1 in 1and a half years.so dont talk about quality
