I made the same thread at the Assassins creed 2forum before i realised i was on the wrong board :P

but anyway my question was:

"I have an HD Ready LCD TV, changed the settings from 1080p and 720p back and forth and am not seeing any differences in anti aliasing. Ezio's robe is jaggy, some npc's are jaggy too. Only the cutscenes don't have jaggy characters.

Having seen the reviews from this site and IGN seems like mine isn't even coming close to those gameplay scenes. Anyone else with the same problem?"

Now i think the footage i've seen with the smooth edges is because that was from the PS3 with its quincunx AA.

Is it true the PS3 has better AA?

Xbox doesn't have the power to AA very well. Resolution won't affect anything. Jaggy lines don't bother me though.

I'm not quite sure if it's better than regular AA, but it's quite different. It's way too different, maybe this should help you:

Actually, the 360 has a lot of games with AA. Proof is here(scroll to 360 section below).

that's helpfull indeed,i was justwondering if it's because i don't use an elite but a normal 360. But i doubt there's hardly any differences between the two only if you use a massive tv screen.

i think he means that the 360 only has 2x AA sampling on most games.

Which isn't bad seeing how the 360's GPU goes up to 4xAA and a lot of them at least have some AA. Different models of 360 doesn't matter, it depends on the games, your T.V. should be fine. The cutscenes don't have jaggies because devs used a trick for that. And a lot of gameplay screenshots have too much AA to hide the jaggies to make game look too good anyways. The res has no affect on AA either, just the size of the picture. It's just the game, that's all, have fun.

Actually Xbox 360 has stronger AA than PS3. Tech experts compared the GPUs and Xbox 360 wins with a better GPU than PS3. Video here says it all. http://cuthut.com/ngZ I have both Xbox 360 and PS3. I must admit aliasing on PS3 is unbearable.

Sitting further away from the screen will make the jagged lines less noticeable haha :D. I can't stand aliasing as well. Ruins the game visual experience.

The XBOX360 can use 4AA,the ps3 can use only 2AA and most of the games on ps3 they don't use AA.AC2 on the ps3 look worst.
