I have heard that vertical scratches the disk but the only horizontal fan melt to the 360. Some people say putting a normal fan by the system will move the air. Some say that placing it on a hard surface helps compared to carpet. Anyone wanna mythbust these and help me out?theshadow1212
I have heard the same about having it vertical and it makes sense. I play the heck out of my 360, and have since Oct.2006 (not very long, I know), and it works fine for me. I have it horizontally on a flat, smooth surface with lots of room to breathe (not a cramped space on the entertainment stand). I also keep that huge adaptor away from it, as it generates heat. As far as carpet vs. flat surface, this makes the most sense of all (smooth is best) as the carpet would not let the fan do its job as well. I used to have it in a smaller space and near the adaptor when I first got it, I think it was overheating and the hard drive was not saving games. It was being really stubborn in other ways too. I was actually pretty worried. So I gave it some more space and made sure it had plenty of air, and it hasn't given me one single problem since. I dust it often too. Doesn't hurt to be careful. It makes sense that even a normal fan would help, as long as the area wasn't dusty.
Yeah. Buy an extended warranty.crck
The only real response I have read so far...Oh yea...then send it in to MS, get it back and sell it cause it will break even sooner or might not even turn on at all....
dont turn it oncloudstrife75
Yep. The Xbox360 is for lookin at, not for playin'. If you like video majiggers then go buy one of those fancy "game consoles", it says right in the Xbox360 almenac that it doesn't jazzercise with "Xbox360 software". Bah, video manipulations are for city slickers anyhow.
