I am really looking forward to Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica coming to Xbox 360 except for the fact they will be dlc. I was hoping they would be on a disc. My reasoning is simply for more achievements on retail versions. These games are great and I am getting them either way but just curious if anyone feels the same way about dlc vs disc.

I'm actually a fan of digital distribution in general. These games are six to eleven years old and having -another- box sitting around for them is not something I need. The achievments/gamerscore do not matter to me, but even if they did I wouldn't expect games this old to have the same number of achievments and gamescore points as a brand new AAA title.

I'm bummed that they didn't think to put the Resident Evil Outbreak games up as DLC those game would be awesome now that more people have an idea how to play online over a game system XD. as for 4 and CV I have copies of them and don't need to buy let alone hunt down another hard copy so I'm glad it's a download.

Lol, I'd like to see that. I actually had two original PS2s with HDD on each so myself and my roomate could play splitscreen on my widescreen TV online. Outbreak was a neat experiment, but it was also pretty widely regarded as a failed experiment. Still, I'd jump on if they did that.

i understand the collectors stand point for the cases but for me its not a deal breaker if anything i like it more it saves me shelf space and i like the idea of maybe getting frustrated with cod signing out and killing zombies without switching disks thats just me though

It kinda sucks in that the whole trend towards digitial distribution in one that I'm not in favor of. So yeah, its annoying.

Not too upset. I'm just glad they're making it. Why look a gift horse in the mouth?

I'm looking at it from all sides. I myself am a collector of all gaming. So I have these on their original systems and won't bother to download either of these. Space doens't matter to me, I have a video game room and will never part with any of my systems or games ever again. It's taken me this long to collect all the systems, so there's no way I'll get rid of them. It's more of a nostalgic thing rather than just wanting updated graphics. Graphics don't make or break a game for me. I still play on my NES and have a awesome time doing so.

But at the same time I can understand why people would be bummed that it's DLC and not discs. I've always favored a disc over a download. It's always better to have something in it's original copy rather than a download.

Didn't know they were "remaking" Code Veronica. I liked that one a lot. It was one of my fav RE games.

I am actually, I prefer my discs. But, don't quote me on this, but apparantly these RE re-releases will actually feature a 1000G for both games, but again, don't quote me on that. I can't wait! 3 Resident Evil games coming to the Xbox 360 this Winter... 3 whole games to play through and enjoy again :D (well one of them is new, but yeah :P).

meh. not interested in full games as digital downloads for the xbox360 EVER. besides, I already have RE4 on ps2, no reason to download it on my Xbox360 (tiny HDD) and overpay for it. if they put them on discs you'd be able to buy them used, and cheaper. I dont recall if i've played Code Veronica much, but I loved the first 2 RE games, but I wouldnt pay extra for them to be ported and in digital form. on disc for ps1 or ps2 is just fine.

This.

I'm getting both, the achievements will give me reason to replay them again and again like I did years ago when I first played them.

Doesn't bother me at all, but I have the internet in my home since 1995 so digital distribution isn't an issue for me. What I am concerned about is whether or not Mercs mode in RE4 will have online co-op or not. That's the deciding factor for me.

While I do prefer a disc over download, for older games it's not such a big deal. That is assuming of course, the price point. If they come in at a standard arcade rate, I'm on board. They try and float them individually at $20-30 U.S. then I'll just pass them up. All of that being said though, I'd really like to play Code Veronica again.

I own both of these games already so it doesn't bother me much that it'll be DLC, though it's always nice to look at your hard copy collection once in a while :P

Now if that's true, I don't care about it being dlc!

Hey they are still full games and that is all I need. I kinda like the digital download. One reason is that I can't go trading them in for a crappy price, especially since I end up wanting to play them right after.

No , games are the same price on xbl as the retail disc versions, even though they cost less to make and distribute.

A little. Resident Evil has been one of, if not my absolute, favorite game series, so having the case would be nice. In the end I'm just happy they're getting added. RE4 is hands down my favorite game. I've never played a game as many times as I've played that and I can wait to kill all achievements on it.

You can if you have a USB HDD, a Flash drive, or your friend's 360 has the same type of HDD as yours.

As a collector who wants physical copies and someone who likes achievements, I would much rather than be retail. Maybe selling both of them together. I'll probably still get them though.

Why can't you just being your 360, it's pretty easy. Just unhook two cables and then hook his cables in.

I really wish it was on disc, my internet connection is unfortunately far too sucky to download them, and I only have a 4GB 360 so I wouldn't have room to DL it anyway...:(

I'm sure the usual arcade game price of $15 is a lot cheaper than $60...

Yea, but who says they will be "arcade" titles? I hope they are, but knowing Microsoft, they are out to get every penny possible. Just like they did with the HALO "$20 expansion" ODST, that quickly turned in to a very disappointing $60 "game".

I see most people aren't bothered by them been DLC, I must say im a little disappointed it took me forever to actually finish Code Veronica not cos I was stuck but bad run of luck with the discs and my life and such, however Resident Evil 4 was one of my favourite PS2 games of all time.

But back on track i like to have games to show off, in some respects I like having hard copies of the game just because I enjoy my friends and familys to see my collection so i can happily show em off.

I have over 100 PS2 games, 20+ games for the Wii and Gamecube each, a dozen or so original Xbox games, maybe 20+ PS3 games and somewhere over 80 360 games. That's not counting titles and systems I've sold over the years (Genesis, Atari 2600/7200, Saturn, NES, Neo Geo CDZ, etc). I also have a full sized multi-game arcade cabinet in my house.

Point is I see where you're coming from, but I'm so over it. Bring on the DLC baby!

It's cheaper if it's an Arcade game. But I'm pretty sure Capcom will bring out a retail version that includes both RE4 and Code Veronica on a disc for $29.99.

Well, this whole collection eats up a couple small bookcases in my house. It's not like they are stacked floor to ceiling and are being used as toilet paper. Still, between that and my DVD collection (450+) I'm looking to cut down and consolidate to save space. I travel for work, so on the PC side I -love- Steam because I never have to worry about preloading my laptop with the games I want to play that week.

While I still like buying physical games for new titles, I'm perfectly happy to buy older titles via DLC (especially in the case of these two since I already have both the GC and Wii versions of RE4 and the DC and PS2 versions of Veronica).
