[QUOTE="gameclearer"]they dont like america or microsoft.fazio93
lol. yea
also, they don't like the game line-up like FPS and all. they are into RPG and stuff. maybe they will buy 360s when Naruto comes out. :)
Misconception. I play many Japanese in CS on PC. I also play many in Gears, Halo 2, and Lost Planet (almost an FPS).

The 360 isn't a Japanese console. I think it's as simple as that.x-2tha-zThis isnt logic bud sorry no offense but the xbox 360 is a product in japan thus making it a japanese console.

You're right. That isn't logical. I'll go with it though. I live in England and I own some consoles so the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 and Xbox are British consoles.

Actually the japanese are into fps. I happen to live in japan and i play with them all the time. The problem is, the games arent released worldwide at the same time. They have to wait up to 4 months for the japanese version of some titles like GRAW 2 or RSV. The games are also priced outrageously high even if they're 2 years old. NBA Live 06 is still 6200 yen, which is about $56 american. In many stores i go to, the 360 section is very small. The Wii section is huge and the ps3 section isn't as big as the wii, but still has a larger section then the 360. Having to wait for the japanese release of games is a big turnoff to the japanese.
I'm not sure. i don't want to make any assumptions.but i do remember that at one point in japanthe trade in value of a ds lite was higher than the trade in value of a 360.

So if a brazilian mango is sold in France, that makes it a French mango. That's your logic. Japan is an island, it's a very insular place, and even now not very open to outside culture. It's culture may be spreading all around the world, but ours isn't really gaining a foothold there. Japanese see the 360 as foreign, the 'shooter box' , it doesn't even have Final Fantasy on it ! which the Japanese cherish a lot. Why would you buy a console when a majority of it's games are made by foreign developpers who probably don't share the same sensibilty as you, when you could buy a Japanese console that's full of unoriginal JRPG series or games with the name Mario in them ?
They hate America and hate shooters.jimmygrace
Where the heck is all this "they hate america" bs coming from? Japan has a history of not liking outsiders, but a lot of our stuff seems to do well over there.
Because Microsoft refuses to get good Japanese 3rd party support. Almost all the 360's best games are shooters with many being FPS's. Those aren't huge in Japan. If Microsoft would get the Japanese developers on board, the console would sell a bit better. They really need to do what they can to start selling in Japan. Microsoft will never win a console war if they cannot sell in Japan. They failed with the Xbox and they failed with the 360. Nintendo is already close to catching Microsoft in the war and eventually Sony will be right their too. This is all do to Japan because the 360 is actually selling very well in NA and Europe.Rocky32189
I think you need to give Microsoft a little more credit. They are clearly trying to get Japanese 3rd party support and arguably have the best selection of JRPGs availible and up and coming as of now. Of course, they would need to release a Blue Dragon or Lost Odyssey calibre RPG every month or so in order to get an even slight foothold in Japan.

are you serious? have u ever even been there before... i happen to be japanese and ive lived for almost my whole life on the air bases and what you have said is wrong... the country is not isolated in any way, if anybody has actually even been there you will see that the country actually loves foregn items, places, etc... the top favorite is of course american products, japan is actually becoming more like america ever day so its not anything about brand loyalty, it could be the fact that they are just more familiar with the sony and nintendo products... also its true that RPGs do sell well there its not those that make the system, there, whenever i went to TSUTAYA (Japanese Blockbuster practically) i would always see games for the xbox rented out and for the other systems the RPGS were usually not the ones that were rented out..... i dont liver there anymore because i had to move but i dont think the country had a complete overhaul in under 2 years

The 360 isn't selling so... Japan must hate America!
#Slow Claps#
Well done everyone. Though I've often wondered why it is that the i-pod does so well over here. Guess they don't hate all American technology. Could it be that people in Japan aren't exactly falling over themselves to buy the follow to a console that had not a single Japanese RPG on it and absolutley bombed? Nope they just hate Americans right? Yeah that must be it.
