Am I seriously the only person whose excited for Far Cry 2?? I preordered the game like a month ago but whenever I search forums asking what games people are excited for, no one else has said FC2. Any one agree with me??
Farcry's idea of having a free roam FPS is really interesting to me. The only thing is there are a ton of games coming out around the release date that have a larger hype, so maybe that's why there isn't that much talk going around the forums. I'll definitely be getting it after I get Fable 2 and Fallout 3.
Im mostly excited for the map editor. I mean the ability to make maps from the ground up with tons of terrain tools as well as thousands of objects you can place is going to make for months and months of fun.

Same here. I had a blast with the first editor. I think will rent it first though. I just have too many games now that I need to finish. That is my problem. I buy these games and by the time I get around to playing them I could have picked it up used.
I'm really looking forward to this game. I may not buy it right away because of the HUGE amount of games coming out right around this time, but I will certinaly rent it, and probably purchase it at a later date. The whole free-roam style intrigues me!

Free roam FPS is cool in some way and in another way i like games like CoD4 with linear experience. Not sure i get this game for PC or console but i will sure get it.

I watched a video for Far Cry 2 the other day and the dev said you can take on jobs for two different military groups. That sounds pretty similar to Mercenaries to me.

ubisoft is (imho) the BEST dev out there so if anyone can its them.
Ubisoft are a good developer but they're by no means the best. The Far Cry games Ubisoft have made have all been average IMO. Far Cry 2 looks good but I'll reserve judgement until I've actually played it. Who knows. Maybe Ubisoft will actually make a good Far Cry game for a change.
you can keep people alive as long as you want, kill them off, do anything you want, not go into the viilages, attack only by night or only by day. If you had the joy of playing the original FarCry on PC, you would be pumped for this. FarCry for the console was a joke.
sadly its coming out at a horrible time. some much stuff is coming out near october 21st....like fable 2, fallout 3, little big planet and dead space

I doubt it, because it would ruin the multiplayer cause you could get matched up with crappy maps and that would blow

man you really need to watch the vids, they explain everything. how it works is when you put a map online it goes to a list that ANYONE can view. you can download and play any map that anyone made at any time. once you play the map you can rate it, and all the maps that get a good rating will go to the top of the list as "a 5 star* or "4 star" map. thats how its gonna work. so any one can play any map. once you download the map you can invite people and play on it.
the campaign isn't going to get repetative. there are so many ways you can go about completely them and killing the enemies. go in rambo style, sneak in at night, bomb the hell out of the place, place bomb on the cars and have the people chase you and blow em up. shoot ammo crates and make an explosion of continuous gun fire, or just set the whole place on fire!! its gonna be an amazingly fun game

Im more excited for FC2 than any other game coming out around its release ill be picking it up first for sure. Unless I see reviews to say otherwise? However I don't think that is going to happen

In this one there is a system that rates the maps out of 5 stars, it is rated by community members such as ourselves, so you'll know when you're downloading a good map or not.

I know but we will still have to put up with some bad ones untill the good ones are rated plus some bad ones because someone has to try them first and it will probably be me with my luck!
I rarely pre-order these days, I will probably rent it when it first comes out for a week or two then buy it later when the pricedrops as I do 90% of my collection.
