any open world fps games coming out?

If you dont know what i mean, i mean games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Im currently looking at fallout 3 but it looks too....(dont flame me for this) boring. Ive seen the gameplay vids and everywhere looks the same ( i know its post apocalyptic) and not much action. But pluses are an interesting story loads of customizable stuff and i love the genre.

Then theres far cry 2, im on the edge with this one as well. For one yes it is an open world fps but it looks more like a straight up shooter with an open environment that they give you and nothing else. ya you can set the whole of africa on fire but the story looks to me it feels like a game that would be better off with a cod4 type singleplayer (nonlinear setting in terms of player freedom).

Im also looking for customization, like stuff to keep you busy after the main story ends, and tons of sidequests

Are there any game like the above listed coming to 360? I didnt mention left 4 dead cause im not sure if its an open world but tell me if it is.

You know, when they say "half a million guns," they don't literally mean there are 500,000 different types of weapons in the game. Undoubtedly, there'll be a much smaller number of base weapons, which are modified through various means. It'll be just like in RPGs, where you have "Glittering Longsword of the Wolf," and "Sparking Longsword of Fear" and so on and so on.Palantas

yeah basically. It's like you get a sawn-off in borderlands, then you get 3 other variations of it, one with flaming shells, one with three barrels and one with a cool engraving on the handle. But yeah Borderlands, open world FPS for you TC.

no way wil there be a million guns ill believe that when pigs fly , the highest a games had is timesplitters and perfect dark now melee weapons saints row 2 has to be the one but thats 3ps, or fps in a car , its a sanbox gta type game , tand theres 2 upcoming saints rows as well as a driver 5 , saints row drive by will be on 3ds and 360 arcade saints row the third is on ps3 360 -and i wouldnt be suprised if they ported or made a wii 2 version , since the prequ al is on 3ds ,

Isn't Prey 2 going to be open world this time around? So maybe that, but I don't think that comes out till next year. Also, Borderlands is a great game, even better if you can convince some friends to pick it up too.
