I have an Xbox360(for 1 year 6 months, and going on a third Xbox360 because the 3 rrod) and a PC(for like 8 years, that I build and update like every year), and soon I will have a PS3 and maybe a Wii.
I like games so it doesn't matter to me what system that they are on, but sometimes a game is better either a console like an Xbox360 or PS3 or Wii(?) and sometimes they are better on a PC. It really comes down to what was that game made for either a console or a PC that decides what it will be better on.
Eh, a lot of people prefer consoles to the PC. That is the situation I am in. I get a greater feeling of immersion with a controller and rumble. Also, most people have bigger television screens than PC monitors. Finally, while PCs may have online gaming, being part of the Xbox Live community is really great.GSU28
Well if games continue to follow in the path of games such as Halo 2 for Vista and Shadowrun, then Xbox Live is available to the PC market aswell linking players of both platforms.
The real question is why buy a gaming PC when you could play the same games cheaper and 8-12 months ahead of time on the 360? Those games go on PC because there is a 360 in the first place, not the other way around. I can get a 360 and a PS3 for $750, the price of a mid-range PC. That includes 2 games and and a couple free blu-rays. Surely you can understand that reason.gamecubepad
Because there are alot of great games that are on the PC that will never come to a console.
To me, PC gaming is the ultimate gaming. Unfortunately its also the most expensive way to game. My current PC is giving its final gasp so now I'm faced with the question of what do I buy next? A decent gaming machine will cost me near $2000, and the price goes up if you want a top of the line machine. But do I really want to spend my whole tax return on a new PC? Not really, so I'm finally considering going back to console with a nice big flatscreen television. A few years ago there was no such thing as downloadable content for consoles, which is really why I stuck with PC. Now with internet connection and hopefully cross-platform gaming becoming more popular, I finally have a reason to save some cash with the console. I still believe PC gaming is superior, but consoles are catching up.
[QUOTE="sarmini"]Because Im not wasting money upgrading a PC when I never need to upgrade a 360usaaaaaa
Yes you do, you'll need to buy a new xbox in about 2 years.
Not really, its called MS Customer Service, Ill send it back and get it repaired. Also, its highly unlikely that mine will break because unlike some people, I actually take care of my systems.[QUOTE="usaaaaaa"][QUOTE="sarmini"]Because Im not wasting money upgrading a PC when I never need to upgrade a 360sarmini

It's the manufacturing process Microsoft uses to make these machines. Until they do a complete redesign of the platform or until the next Xbox is released there are going to be more than unaccetable failure rates for this system. I'm waiting on mine to return from the repair center as we speak.
i think the real question is,
any reason to buy a pc when their games come out on the 360 first?
:P
seriously, everyone should save themself a few thousand dollars and skip the uber computer
My two cents.... I've been an avid PC gamer for as long as I can remember for a lot of the same reasons that have been stated on this thread. Ultimate gaming, better performance, downloadable content, component upgrades, etc, etc. However, my girlfriend convinced me to buy a 360 last year and here is what I have to report:
1) When you put a 360 game in the drive it'll run. Unfortunately for PC games (and some 360 games to be completely fair) you typically have to wait for the first patch if not longer to get things to run correctly (i.e. Crysis, Company Of Heroes)
2) My TV at home is much bigger than my monitor, and supports HD. I don't know about everyone else, but I think it looks great on a HD television.
3) You're pretty much guaranteed working 5.1 surround with the 360 with little to no configuration (if you have the sound system to power it)
4) Configuration. I used to love tweaking my PC settings to get the most out of my PC game, but quite frankly I don't have the time anymore. With the 360 you don't have to constantly update all your drivers or mess with your resolution. Same with the sound.
5) I like sitting in my leather recliner vs. my computer chair.
6) Cost. I'm buying a TV and sound system and a bunch of other things for my home theater system anyway, why continue to double-that up and pay a premium for relatively the same (although probably smaller) components for the PC when I can just plug in a 360 and leverage what I already have. It's much cheaper.
If you can, try and have both since agreeably there are some PC games that just won't cut it on a console or are not even available (like RTS's, WoW)
Anyway, my two cents...
Dude a while ago i was wondering the same thing as u, though now i am on my way to buying a 360 (in a month ill have it, MUAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH), and u might be wondering what changed my mind, well here are my reasons:
1. U never have to upgrade ur 360, i mean u can buy minor accessories for it, but u dont have to upgrade the graphics card, mobo, ram, psu, processor, constantly to get games running at atleast decent frame rates and resolutions. Especially with Crysis.
2. Consoles have controllers, and the good thing with that, is that its usually a lot easier to move with, and a much more simple interface, then pressing something like shift Y to run, and having to hold it down while u press W to move forward.
3. XBox 360 has live, and it has a way way bigger online commmunity then the comp does.

dude u know u can use a wired 360 controller for your pc. and ive done it with gears. but you seriously need a kickass computer for gears, thats why i returned that and bought a 360, but if i were you i would just buy a 360 cuz i swear to god it took like 14 hours to install like 10% of a game on my pc.Dude a while ago i was wondering the same thing as u, though now i am on my way to buying a 360 (in a month ill have it, MUAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH), and u might be wondering what changed my mind, well here are my reasons:

meh i have both, i like pc better. i havn't upgraded my pc in a while (i just started since 06) but some video cards u can plug into a tv. i think online has mre people! counter strike source has a lot of people playing. fps r better with keyboard and mouse. mods for games don't cost money.
the bad thing about pc gaming is that the 360 games take a while for it to come to pc. halo 2 just came couple months ago halo 2 has been around for almost 3 years now.
*cough* stysem wars*
