Don't get me wrong Forza 2 is an amazing game!  I downloaded the demo, played it, and I was amazed on how much detail was put into it.  I remember being at the starting line, reving up my engine, then off I went, but then there was that first turn.  I crashed onto the wall and a hand full of parts came off my car, and it looked beautiful when it did.  The last racing game I played were PGR and Burnout for the 360 and these racing games are more arcade-like.  Forza 2 is not a joke, it's as real as it gets, but I guess it's too real for me.  I lean more towards arcade-like racing games like Burnout.  I played the GT demo for my PS3, but it has nothing on Forza 2.

I know the hardcore racing fans will definately love this game and I hope they'll enjoy it.  I'll be saving that $60 for another game.  But I'll surely rent it or even wait and get a used one.  So anybody else not getting Forza 2?

I too am like you and tend to prefer the Arcade-like racign games.  I think that is why I never really cared for PGR3.  I may eventually give Forza a try, but I am not sure if I will be spending the $60 especially with the good amount of games set to come out in the next few months.

PGR3 is an arcade racer. It's visuals are just like it's a sim. But it's not. It's like Ridge Racer only somewhat more realistic power slides.

I respect your decision and appreciation of the game despite that it is not your taste. Most people would just say the Demo sucks, the game sucks, I suck, and so on. Do me a favor though. Once it comes out give it a rent and give the customization a spin if you have never played Forza 1. I used to feel the same way you do, but once I tried Forza 1 all that changed. The sheer amount of options is impressive and if you spend a little time working on your car, you can give it that arcade feel.

Getting DIRT instead.ball_of_air

Theirs  no way you can compare DIRT to Forza 2, because it's 2 completely different racing genres (rally - track racing)

I wont, it's not my type of racing games, I like nfs or burnout games better. Though Forza2 is probably a really good game if you like that type of games.

I'm still playing forza 1 even on my xbox360 even more then other games ( motogp 06, saints row wwe vs. raw pgr 3 i keep on returning to forza)

I'm certainly not buying it at launch, I'll pick it up later when it is a whole lot cheaper.  Only because I got Forza 1 at launch back in the day and lost interest quickly, went back to PGR2 and never looked back.

I believe I will be getting this game, my only problem with it was the reflections on the cars look horrible.  I have been waiting for a good sim racer for awhile and I believe this will be it.

I have never gotten into Simulation Racing games. I was about 13 when the original Gran Turismo came out, I didnt have a job and saved up for a looong time to get that game. I never liked it, and luckily my birthday followed soon and I got Metal Gear Solid...have never turned back.

I dont know, I just never got into the whole *doing stupid tests to get licenses, BEFORE i could actually race*

I wont knock the game, or the genre, I just havent attempted it since Gran Turismo. I never played Forza, but I am intriged and will (for the first time in a while) rent this game and give the genre another try.

But with new maps for Gears of War, a list of other games sitting on my shelf (Lost Planet, Rainbow Six:Vegas, G.R.A.W. 2, MLB2k7) I dont think I will be buying this.

However I am REALLY looking forward to Shadowrun, Mass Effect and Blue Dragon.

I kinda got a weak feeling for this game. I would say that would be a false opinion because I feel the Forza demo was very limited and I do understand why. My opinion, gonna have to get the full version so I actually can enjoy the upgrades, more tracks, cars, and and the finer things of the game. I enjoy all racing games but I feel the Forza Demo could have been a bit better and demostrated some of its fruits. Demo reminded me of same feeling I had playing the Crackdown demo after that experience wanted no part of the game but all my friends insisted give it a chance, so I bought Crackdown. I enjoyed the short game but had a blast looking for orbs. I may have to wait on this game.

forza 2 isnt hard you just have to understand how the breaking works. You can not break around a turn you have to break before or else your tires wont be able to hold enough pressure to get around the turn... or something like that :P lol

I was disappointed insofar as it is visually on par with PGR3. The lighting effects are unimpresive, there are jaggies all over the place, and the extent of the damage modeling was my car looking like it had mud on it. That being said, some have said that the damage modeling was nerfed for the demo, which leads me to believe that maybe it just wasn't a finished product. So maybe the retail release will be more aliased and have more eye candy.

I was also pretty frustrated with how the cars handled, but that's how they handled in Forza 1 before I was able to put better tires and shocks and suspension in it and boost the engine so that I'd have an easier time keeping up. The track I saw was also blah, but I imagine they'll have many more than that.

In short, the demo has made me much more cautious than I was... I'm nervous that the product may not be as good as I thought it was going to be. I see no revolution here. I just see a slightly shinier version of the first. And I got the first for only 8 bucks, so they can keep their shine if it doesn't end up being better than the demo.

I agree with you i never liked the real life kind racing.... if i want to drive ill drive a real car i like the more arcade style no way it could happen kinda racing game....like burnout where if you slam into another car at 150mph and your still going....p.s. are you in the halo internal beta i saw that you have the 3 symbol in your recently played games

I agree with you and the others who have mentioned it, I am more into the arcade style racing.  The only time I really enjoyed playing GT for Playstation was if a bunch of my friends were over and we'd play, but eventually we shifted to Burnout on Xbox and had even more fun.  I played the demo and it just wasn't for me.  Maybe I'll give it a rent once its actually released to see if some of the little perks of the game, like customization, can get me to enjoy it.

I'm not getting it.

I downloaded and played the demo to see what all the fuss was about. I just can't get into ultra-realistic driving games. I much prefer arcade-style driving, like the Burnout series.

Just not my thing.

If you live the ABS on and other options off it is pretty easy. Without ABS it is crazy hard and annoying. Hate with the damn brakes lock up.  Have you tried leaving ABS on?
