Anybody else think, that the Halo 3 beta looked like crap?

I was watching the Gamespot guys playing Halo 3 against eachother and the graphics are horrible! Not only do they suck, they have used the dying animations from 1 and 2. This was a big letdown for me, even though i don't care much for the Halo series, but to take such a critically acclaimed series and messing it up so badly is just a disgrace, even though it's only a beta.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

What's your opinion..?

remeber a year or 2 ago when they released the first trailer for halo3 and bungie said they were aiming to make the graphics equally in quality to the trailer? well, i was expecting that and i have to say i'm disappointed. It really looks like the pc version of halo2. Luckly for me, i never really played halo2 so halo3 will be enjoyable, at least for me. callen3

Don't I know it. And of course when the game actually comes out & kicks major portions of ass, all these people who are talking smack about it will be the first ones in line to get a copy. Typical.

i love how bungie are using the halo3 beta to completely cover the fact that they have not shown a scrap of single player ;and we all know that singleplayer graphics> muitplayer. everybody that is complaining about their not being much change in the game havent even see the whole entire game..so just what are the basing that on? a beta video?..:roll:

True. True. Besides, I'm just waiting for the ending for the game. Honestly, they could release Halo2-calibur graphics. I'm in it for the story.

Does any company ever reach there target rendered trailers? Last i checked no one did. 

I've yet to ever be disappointed in anything put out in the Halo franchise, and as of now from what I've seen from the multiplayer aspect the graphics look fantastic, I'd be fine with them if the game realesed right now, and I know it's only going to get better.

Watch the HD videos of the beta on Gametrailers. Then come back here, and tell me what you think. It looks amazing !

It's beta footage ! You got that sucker ? B-E-T-A! It's still many months from being released, and it looks way better than Halo 2! 

ok i hate to repeat what ahs been said countless times but

1. It is a beta which is NOT  a final product

2. Bungie have openly stated that numerous graphical effcets havent been turned on and there are bugs because oh my god it is a beta!!

3. They have also taken out numerous features for those who think this is the final gameplay style and product

4, Ok so in a game where they openly state this isnt the final product and said it all you complain that they have the same animations from halo 1 and 2? i would LOVE to hear this argument in the street "hey you played halo 3 yet?" "nope" "why not?" "oh because they reused the same death animations from halo 1 and 2"........

5. the graphics already are a huge improvement but 75% of what you dont see is behind the scenes like better bigger levels, better a:i etc

You obviously did not see it in HD quality or else you wouldn't say that. Go look at the ltest pics.

Quit complaining about the graphics. I think that they looked great and I am very excited for the release of Halo 3. The only flaw about those videos was that the guy playing was a comlete noob.

First I thought the graphics were pretty good but when has the halo franchise ever been about graphics? Its been about gameplay and the story. Thats why I am buying halo 3 for the gameplay and story.ndrewn

Actually, Halo has been know for its graphics.  Halo 1 was considered one of the best looking games for the xbox even way after its launch.  top 10 on filter?  ANd for Halo 2, it looked really good and was praised for it by many reviewers although the graphical pop ups were horrible.

 Maybe but halo would be nothing without its awesome gunfights and story. Graphics werent really why I bought the other two.
