Hey I have a problem. I was playing a game that I rented from GnF and my daughter was running across the living room and accidentally hit my tv stand. My 360 was sitting vertically and got knocked over. My system's fine but now I have those two white rings on the disc. Other games still play but the disc I was playing won't play past the point I left off at.

Has this happened to anyone before (a rental getting damaged)? What do you guys think they'll do?

If the game doesn't have any Gamefly logos just buy a new one to replace and send it to them. or just buy it from them for cheaper.

I think you haVE 3 OPTIONS

1 - Ask their costumer service and see if they will give you a free pass on it

2 - Jut hit the"keep it " button

3 - Send it back and they will never know you broke it and the next one thta rents it will be an unhappy costumer

Now do what you feel more appropriate.

I am stupid i would do option number one but most people in here i belieeve would go with number 3 cause i believe $30 - $40 is a fair amount of money to have a clean conscience

I've looked on the site, and apparently they just charge it to your card. Since they check every game they send, and receive. Otherwise you could just send back an emty case ect. So to anyone who said they won't know you did it. They will.

I wouldn't do that cause most stores check their disks when they give it to you you are only going to complicate your life. As i said before just ask them or just keep it and pay what GF charges you wich is much less then you can buy a used game in a store for.

Personally when I had gamefly, they did me right, I canceled only because I rather have a game to keep instead of paying to rent. But I would do the keep it, and just count my  losses, maybe there is a service buy you that can resurface the disc. If it is not a bad scratch. But I would do the right thing, imagine if that was your game that you rented out, and sombody scrached it and tried to stiff you on it, you would be mad. As far as your question, I would not call or anything, they might charge you full price, I would just do the keep it option.

Just send it back and you will be fine. I know somebody who scratched their Gears accidentally, so they ordered it from Gamefly, took the game from them, and sent his scratched copy back. He didn't get in any trouble.

I've had it out for a while so I really can't say that it was like that when I got it. but I've contacted them asking for a free pass on this one. Anyway, I going to the store now to see if it can be resurfaced. The guy on the phone said if it's not deep they can do something about it. I'll let you guys know. Thanks for the input everyone!

Cross the boarder of mexico, change your name to Pueblo Ganado, move to a small village off the coast near a little town I like to call Huatulco, and settle down until things blow over. Simple.

You could always just take it somewhere to get the scratch removed for like 3 bucks. I've scratched two different games because of my 360 getting knocked over (one my fault, the other an accident) and I've repaired both the discs from a local electronics store. It only cost like 3 dollars and the game works fine now. Just a thought so you don't have to worry about buying the game from them or whatever. They'll never know you got it cleaned either.

Well, first, put your 360 horizontal if your daughter is gonna be running around. Second, they'll probably make your pay for it, you broke it, you bought it.

This is definitely the most rational action you could take. If I scratched a disk, this is definitely what I and most people would do.

Right, you can just do whatever you want and if only millionaires get hurt its ok. Its funny how people sometimes just totally lack any kind of morality or sense of right and wrong.

Yeah, till hundreds of people do it and they're down a couple of hundred thousand. Turn down your font, you'll get moderated.

Ive got Gamefly. If you damage a dics you have the option to pay for it. Just tell them it was damaged when you got it. Ive got 3 copies of the same game and 2 of them wont play and one of them was broken into pieces. I think I am going to end my subscription with them.

Here's what you do:

Get a membership with Hollywood Video, Blockbuster or other said video rental store (if you don't already have one). Rent the same exact game that got scratched. Swap discs, return it less than 30 minutes later and tell them that you tried to play the game, but it's all scratched up. The clerks never check the bottom of the disc, they only open the case to make sure the correct disc is in there so they wouldn't know if you did it anyways.

Problem solved.

Edit: Or if you have a GameCrazy in your town, go there and spend $2 and have the disc resurfaced.

This is exactly where I ended up taking it. They did an outstanding job. Even let me test it in the store, but their 360 was on the fritz anyway. We know because they opened a used copy of the game too and tried it and it froze in the same place at the beginning as mine did after the resurface. So the store clerk said, take it home try it, if it doesn't work, just bring it back and I'll swap it for a used copy. I was like sweet.

Just got home and everything is fine. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions (no matter how off the wall they were)!

Naw, he didn't talk about that, but I did. So you think that just because someone is rich or well off that they don't deserve protection, or that you can try to cheat and steal from them without problems? I have a feeling you are the kind of kid who's going to end up in jail for doing something stupid just because you didn't feel it was wrong. The "But he's RICH!!!" defense won't fly. Only the "Because I'M rich" defense flies.
