This'll make it even easier to mod games, YAY!NeoNinja12Umm, not really, But yes I am excited, I just have to find one of my lost USB sticks
YEAH. I can finally put you know what on my 360 :D. Plus custom backgrounds and gamer pics.Plus modded games and getting banned on xbox live. Lol not really.
And one thing I forgot GAME saves.
I'm really psyched because I was going to buy one of those proprietary units, and now I don't have to. That, and I can clear some crap off my harddrive.CodingGenius
That's the same boat I was in
I wanted to save some stuff permanently but the memory cards were insane
Also another advantage is now we have another save point so that means hello Dead Rising no more awful save system! lol
I only have a 1gb flash drive and I don't really have the cash right now to spend 30 or so dollars on a flash drive, but I'd be more than happy to use my external hard drive if M$ would allow it :D (doubt it'll happen any time soon or at all). So no I'm not all that excited but I'll probably get a flash drive when I get some extra cash.

Unlikely however, as the 8955 firmware is already "unhackable" after they blocked the current exploit.
This'll make it even easier to mod games, YAY!NeoNinja12I was thinking this cause its true. Also I own an Elite so its irrelevant...
Kuwait just got the update, but uh..I'm not seeing the capability of putting this on the computer?
When I plug it in, the files I see are just labelled 'Data0000' to Data0005 or something; Meaning you can't actually access the physical save files -the only reason why one would want to plug it into a computer for save files' sake is to backup as a whole then?
Here I was thinking I could mess around w/ my Borderlands characters..
Anyone have any insight into this?
What exactly does this update enable us to do????Gabez_Rit lets you use a flash drive rather than having to use a memory card

As long as it connects via USB, you can use it. However, the system will check the speed of your USB connected HDD to see if it's fast enough. And like the flash drive, you can only use up to 16gb of that HDD space.
I transfered all my stuff to my new 16 gigs of space then reformated my hard drive. It works faster now. That transfer function is awesome.
Just in case anyone's wondering: Out of boredom, I installed Tales of Vesperia to a USB Flash drive I had lying around. I was actually surprised. It's loads a bit faster than the DVD drive, but not as fast as the HDD. I was expecting the opening video to be choppy, but it wasn't. The only problem is it took close to 45 minutes to install.
I am trying to transfer memory from one hard drive to a larger one with a flash drive and the xbox is telling me that my flash drive is below recomodations and that it will effect the saving of data onto that flash drive, will this effect how well my new hard drive saves data?
Depends on the speed of your USB stick. Also, if those Xbox 360 Slim rumours are true, I wonder if they will support USB 3.0 (much faster)Just in case anyone's wondering: Out of boredom, I installed Tales of Vesperia to a USB Flash drive I had lying around. I love this update. I transfered some arcade games (Banjo series and Worms) and I was able to play off the USB drive without problems. But the biggest draw for me is that I can backup my saves and transfer my gamer tag when I go to a friends house. Beats spending $40+ on a pahtetic 512MB memory card.
Ive still got around 50GB of free space on my 360 so no need for this really. Is this all the update done or was there some other things added? I also hate how its brought back the damn welcome menu, i can't remember how to get rid of it. Anjunaddict
It actually has a "Remove welcome menu" tab on the welcome menu itself. Very handy.
