Anyone beat Battletoads yet?

I admit, I've been using Instant Replay, but at Stage 11 that doesn't help at all. The timing is far, far too precise for me, and I think it's because of this damn d-pad on the Xbox One controller. It just isn't responsive enough, and screw trying to use the stick! Did anyone manage to get passed this stage?

@JustPlainLucas: I managed to beat it and f**k that game. That stage where the ball thing is chasing you is one of the hardest segments in a game I have ever played. How people beat that game without the rewind feature is amazing to me. Screw Dark Souls, if you managed to beat that game back in the day you deserve to have your name on a pedestal.

I actually managed to beat it last night. I did so by pausing the game the MOMENT I hit a corner so I could immediately hit the next direction and then unpaused. If I missed, I just rewound. Cheating, I know, but desperate times for desperate measures.
