I havent played Dark Messiah but I've played Oblivion and that game is worth getting it... i bought it when it first came out and i still play it ....Lord_Syll
Yeah, I put about 45-55 hours into it when I first had it. I bought it the day it was released and played it off and on for awhile. I was just looking for something new, but will most likely just pick up the GOTY edition instead. I really liked the combat in Dark Messiah though.
[QUOTE="-Jankka-"]By the demo, I'd judge that that the first one ( The PC one ) was better.
I can't really give any better advice.

yeaa try the demo...I always try the demo's first before I buy the game usually
I played the demo and liked it. I really liked the melee combat as well, much more than Oblivion's. The only problem is the total linearity of the game. It's probably 8-12 hours at most. So it lacks the crazy game hours of Oblivion, where you can just go and get lost in the country side battling god knows what, spelunking caves and destroyed castles. And for less money as well. Isn't GOTY Oblivion around $39.99-$49.99 now? Hmm, decisions.
It is kinda buggy, sometimes when moving up fast textures disappear, sometimes you can't hear your quest people talking to you, sometimes lag when a lot is happening, even sometimes when your just fighting 1v1.
But there are three types of games IMO, games I don't play, games I enjoy playing, but can stop at any time. And games I play till 5 in the morning even though I know I should quit but can't bring myself to do it. This is one of those games More enjoyable to me then any game whats come out since Mass Effect.
I actually think it is a great game, personally. Hell, it uses Valve's Source engine, and you do not hear anyone complaining about how dated Half-Life 2 looks do you? So there you have it, it has graphics exactly like Half Life 2, as well as the great physics system that the Source engine provides. Yes, the graphics look dated by today's standards, but they are by no means out right terrible, lol.
The combat system is better than Oblivion's in my opinion, as you can use your environment. Such as kicking enemies onto spikes or into fires, you can shoot arrows through fires to create flaming arrows, you can cut ropes and break unstable support beams in order to cause cave-ins on enemies, ect. The weapons and magic are great, and the story is cool as hell.
Just a really enjoyable, fun game that does a great job at making you feel like the center of attention all the time. It is not perfect, but it is certainly very good, and very underrated in my opinion. Plus, it has multiplayer as well....unlike Oblivion. I cannot wait to try it out after I finish the story, which I am currently a little over half-way through and am really enjoying personally.

How many hours do you think it is?

Well, it is no Oblivion, that's for sure. But, I would say that it is at least a good 12-15 hour game, as the 360 version has about 2 extra hours of added material that the PC version does not have. Of course after the story, there is multiplayer as well, which will add plenty of value.
if you can, get both.
otherwise try the demo for Dark Messiah
and if you get Oblivion, get the GOTY Edition its worth it.
I have to add that I had a hard time finding a room for the MP but I guess it was around 11pm EST so that may have something to do with it.
But so far, I'm enjoying the game. it's about a 7 for me. If you don't go in expecting a great game then you should be all right with it.

This game kinda came out nowhere for me, so I never really had high expectations for it. I just liked the combat in the demo, so. But that's good info. Thanks!
