I really liked all of the previous Silent Hill games and I've been hesitant on buying this one with all of the mediocre reviews that are coming out. With all the good games coming out the next couple months, I don't know if I should spend 60 dollars on this game. For anyone who bought the game, is it as good as the other ones?
Definitely. It's just as good as previous Silent Hill games, and better than some (Silent Hill 3, Silent Hill 4, Silent Hill Origins). It has a great story, great characters, and more refined gameplay than previous games in the franchise. There are also 5 endings, so there's a lot of replayability.
i just bought it like 2 days ago and im really enjoying it, the combat is way better and so are the controls comparing to the other silent hills and not only that the monsters are pretty freaky looking as well. I hear theres multiple endings too so its definetly worth buying.
I might have bought it if it had come out in a different month. To many games coming out , not enough cash for them all so some games have to be cut, Silent hill is one of them. People are saving for stuff like Gears 2, Fallout 3, Left 4 dead, Banjoe, Fable 2. Silent hill Homecoming will get lost in the crowd this winter. Should have been released in January 2009 or last month. It's not strong enough to stand against these big hitters.
its really hard to say. i would say yes buy it if you plant to trade it in when you are done say in a month and apply the credit toward another game, but i would say no if you plan on buying it for 65 bucks and keep it...in that case i would wait till the price drops.
good game, but its not a guarentee buy as it's longevity is kind of lacking. im enjoying it, but i dont see myself replaying it. i bought it and dont regret it but thats because ill trade it in for 25 bucks along with something else like ninja gaiden 2 to get an additional 10 bucks in a few weeks. so essentially i will have had the game for a month, 40 dollars worth of renting, but ill end up only paying 35 for it after i get 30 back at gamestop.
The mixed reviews are a blessing in disguise. I've been monitoring this games used value & it continues to drop. I'm going to wait until after Christmas & get it for little to nothing.
