I was wondering if anyone bought the Orange Box for their console but also have played them on PC. I ask because a friend as recently purchased and played through HL2 and Episode of the Orange Box but also as completed the series so far on PC.

I guess I'm wondering what the point is?.... well ok maybe Achievement Points but still seems a little odd thing to do. Don't get me wrong, HL2 and its episodes are in my opinion the best FPS games for a good few years now but still don't see the point.

Ive played Half Life 2 and EP1 on my PC and Portal on my PC and i've bought the orange box on xbox because well i wanted episode 2 and felt like playing thru it again (yet ive only got past first level so far) and i hardly play on my pc anymore so fort id get it on xbox for a change just traded in a game and got it like that, ill admit it was stupid especially as theres no counter strike on the orange box so yh it cost me a game i didnt like and i get acheivment points bout it really all for TF2 and EP2

Well, I don't own either but I plan on buying it for the 360 eventually. But I won't buy a game for two consoles. Why? Because I value my money...

I have had HL2 for my PC since it came out, I bought the Orange Box for the other games that came with it. It was also fun playing through HL2 again on the big screen!

I can't see any point in getting HL2, EP1 or EP2 again for PC, but Portal and TF2 are much better on PC.

The main reason - more support, more maps, more content, more people playing.

Portal on PC allows you to play new maps that you download, and with the Hammer tools freely available for ages people can make all the custom maps they want, and share it with other people to solve.

TF2 has much better support on PC (nor hard considering the total lack of console support), with new maps, changes to existing maps, new achievements added for some classes (no GS since its PC), the ability to play user created maps, and there are a lot more people playing.
