I used to think it was funny, but now it just makes people sound dumb.

"lrn2aim" was never cool.

I'm hip. I'm happenin'. I'll, on occation, use words like, "lol" or "byob."

And that's why I'm not asking for all this to stop. It's a trend, I understand that, like bell bottoms. It'll stop when you all realize how dumb it is. Or when you start hearing your mom say things like, "oh Diane, that flower garden of yours is so win" to the neighbor lady.

That'd put an end to it pretty quick.

This has everything to do with Xbox 360 games and should absolutely not be removed by a mod.

It's a discussion about the boards, that's valid.

I think it's rather annoying, and I'm glad GameSpot moderates single-word responses. "Win" and "fail" fit perfect with gamer binary thinking, where games, developers, and everything else are either awesome, or they suck. There's no middle ground.

So...you don't want people..ONLINE to say stuff like "lol" or "win" or "fail"? It's originally used as internet speak (leet speak) and used to simplify things. Also, when'd people ever use "lrn2aim" that's just a ripoff of "lrn2spel" < suppose to be ironic because...well it's pretty obvious right? But lern2aim makes no sense.

When used in real life, it's a joke, chill out, seriously -_-; Just making fun of the trends we have online and stuff like that.

I'm sure you use slang in your speech, it's the same as using "lol" and internet words like that.

I occasionally use win and lol. Though fail is slightly annoying because whenever someone "fails" everyone and their grandmother has to say it. So when it's all said and done there's like twenty posts with nothing but the word fail. The word that annoys me the most is noob and even worse nub. "Zomg youz a forum nub lulz".
