Topic. I find the games so unrewarding, it really is just a combination of buttons during gameplay, and there is really no control over where the game is going. Some people say Guitar Hero is innovative, but I believe it's just a lazy developer getting tons of money because they monopolised a new market. It makes me feel discouraged about "next gen" technology when a collection of songs that allow you to press buttons to get the priviledge of hearing the whole thing through could actually be well received, and be sold to many people at a premium price over other games.

I appreciate thinking outside the box, so I look at Mass Effect, BioShock, and Assassins Creed. But seeing people listen to songs while mashing buttons with little to no rewards in terms of gameplay...makes me feel...poor almost.

Im not here to troll, Im here to find people who share my OPINION.

I'm one of the few people who have yet to even try a DDR or Guitar Hero game. I've just not been intrigued enough up until now to try one out. I will say that despite the high price tag of Rock Band, I may go ahead and pick it up because it would be so fun to host a party with lots of booze and Rock Band.

Well technically any game is just hitting the correct buttons in a certain matter. The games are made strictly just to have a good time, like old games before N64 and Playstation were released. And they take skill to be good at, it's not simply just mashing buttons randomly

I play games for fun as well as story and immersion. Guitar Hero is fun, it's just that simple. And stop downplaying it like its just "a list of songs that play when you press buttons." would you even begin to know how to go about making it? They have to record it and arrange it all so that it's interactive. That's worth the 50 bucks in my opinion.

I'm learning how to play a real guitar as well because I love music. But seeing as I DONT know how to play yet, it's fun to pick up a fake one and be able to feel what it's like to produce music. If it's anything like Guitar Hero it's probably going to be great.

Mashing more buttons faster. Wow.

And yes I had a bad experience. One of my idiot friends does nothing but play this game. Everyone else wants to play some multiplayer 360 games and he's all up on the guitar playing crap we can LISTEN to while playing any game though the 360's music player!!! And we have to watch him play music, that he has NOTHING to do with!!!! ****

Guitar Hero does not have lazy developers! They had to re-create most of the song themselves for guitar hero 2...just look at the credits.

Man, i hate ignorance!

You make it sound like GH is the equivalent of opening up WMP and just clicking play. Thing is, GH is popular for the same reason the Wii is: it's interactive. I mean Christ, if you've never played air guitar while listening to a great song, there's something wrong with you. GH is like playing air guitar, except it's closer to the real thing. And you have to admit, it's never really been done before.

Exactly. The only difference is in presentation. Ultimately, we're all just staring at a monitor trying to hit buttons at just the right time.

Personally, I enjoy Guitar Hero and DDR to play them at friends homes, but I don't plan on buying either. When I was reading the original post, I did have an image of watching a guy play guitar hero for the first time. He was in Best Buy and you could tell he was just havin' a great time. But, from my point of view, I just saw rock being jammed to with....click click click...click click click click...click click click..click click....................

Guitar Hero is easy to play, fun and competative, and it is one of very few games that has a unique controller to help you thouroughly enjoy the whole experiance. Just because you don't enjoy a particualr type of game, you shoudn't say that the developers are lazy or that it's bad because that is not true, you just don't like it.
