I use to have this problem also. the only way to fix this is you have to get it replaced with a new whole front. Make sure the faceplate is on securly.
The one we use as a demo at the store is like that. The drive won't open when it's vertical, we have to lay it horizontal to open it. Apart from that, it works great. I have no idea what causes that problem.
