I don't pay full price for most games and usually wait for a price drop and I noticed how Tom Clancy games use to drop to $20 on Xbox but now there $30 on 360.So since I would be getting GRAW and Double Agent i'd only be paying $60 but if prices stayed the same as last gen it'd only be $40 and I could afford a 3rd game.Anyone pissed over the higher prices?

The best thing you can do is look around hard, visit auction websites and look at the "used" section at game stores. I happen to be a gamer that doesn't always want the latest title. I'm now playing Halo: Combat Evolved and MOH: Pacific Assault, those games costed me $10 each, they are used, but the DVD's didn't have any scratches and if they did, I just had to go back to the store and ask for a replacement. It's good for the environment and your pocket, instead of making new CD's or DVD's and jewel cases, re-use those others used, and save a lot of money while you are doing it. Apart from that, try to exchange old games you don't play anymore with friends. Don't start downloading stuff, it's not fair for those who program the games for a living, no matter how you feel about the prices they ask for games these days.

I might have been a bit narked originally. Y'know, like eighteen months ago when the price actually went up.

Little late to the party?

well it really depends on how you look at this. Developers earn the $60 for their hard work if the titles is successful with the gamers. Then there are hardcore gamers who are willing to spend their $ on just games rather than anything else. Casual gamers are interested in just more than buying video games, so they stick to budget titles and also because most of the time casual gamers are busy working, spending time with family or doing other activities. I use to be a hardcore gamer when i would purchase games for the full price, but now that i got older i became more of a casual gamer who really doesn't have much time for games and still like to play them resulting in buying used games.

No but this is what you get for inflation.  Hey, i used to pay 60 or 70 bucks for N64 games.  If you dont like it wait till the games are cheaper.  This always happens so you will see cheap 360 games by the end of this year and a lot more next year.

i payed more during the n64 days.  but it does annoy me that i can get the same game for my pc for 10 bucks cheaper and with the modding community these games are always the better version to buy...  i dont get why i have to pay more for a game that is not the best version to own.  it annoys the hell out of me.  i keep praying gears comes to the pc becuase within a month there will be new game types and new levels to play through because of the modding community.

360 games have cost $60 for more then a year now so most of us have come to terms with the idea of slightly more expensive games this gen. Time for you to do the same.

I go on Ebay and all games cost less than $30. Quit complaining and find alternate ways to buy games for reasonable prices.

I hear ya, brother man. Alot of crappy games costs $60, I understand why 3rd-party games are $60 but why are 1st-party games? I'm so used to seeing first-party games cheaper than 3rd party games. Unlike 3rd parties, 1st parties don't need to pay the $10 royalty fee. Can't believe M$ was charging $60 for Gears and Halo 3 when they should be only charging $50 like they did for Viva Pinata.

Yeah. N64 games cos $60-$80 standard price. That's why everybody switched to disc. Cartridge way too much. But most people here are used to PlayStation prices of first party games costing $40 and third party games costing $50.

I'm quite annoyed that games cost more.  Especially when Wii games are $10 cheaper.  Also, what's up with MS saying that first party games will be $50, but they charge $60 for Gears?  There's absolutely no reason games should be more than $50 especially when they are multi-platform games.

Answer me this too.  Why is it that someone can go Oblivion $10 cheaper for the PC than for the 360?  I don't get next gen prices.

Its actually quite simple Next-gen Games = Higher polygon counts, higher res textures, more physics, more lighting, online play is more standard, and ect = More time and more specialized employees to make the game = Higher cost to make the game = Higher cost of the game After all they arn't making these game for you for fun, they are making these game for you to buy so they make money.

I'm not happy about it, but I rarely pay full price for a new game anyway unless it's one I have to have right away (and that's the case for maybe 1-3 titles a year). Otherwise I always buy used and wait till prices get around $30.

I'm a gameflyer so if i like a game i keep it or buy it from them for cheaper prices like $20 to $30 i remember getting Gears for $30 and Marvel UA too i'm glad with them. and remember the games are so much better, bigger and hardest than 10 years ago, just take a look at Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat II theyre like mini games compared to the games that were playing now like somebody else posted. :)

Dude, why did you post this? I agree with you one hundred percent, but in the past...I've posted this before and I got flamed so much. People are going to say, "Designing cost money, waaa! People have jobs to do...waaa! People steal...waaaa! etc. etc. etc." Man, I remember when games were forty bucks, and they came with COLOR manuals...now...hm.

is it really that bad? think about a dvd lasting 2 hours and costing $20. a game lasts at least 10 hours, most likely more, and is not five times the price. i don't think $60 is all that much for the amount of time the game takes...especially if you have some cool features.

Not really...these games clearly take more graphical capabilities than last gens consoles thus it costs more money to make these games. I think the $60 price tag is fair.

I have no problem with the prices. We're talking about nextgen games here. Gaming has never been cheap anyway.
