Anyone else strongly dislike EA (Electronic Arts) or Activison ?

They always grab big name titles that they know people will buy (lotr, harry potter, etc) and then they produce a low quality game because they know that its name will bring them business. It really stinks because they have series like lotr trademarked and those games could have so much potential. EA sports games aren't too bad. But then again I am not into sports games. unkis4l

If they mess up Mass Effect 2, I can guarentee you that they won't be around to screw up anymore.

I don't hate EA if they make a bad game I'll stay away from it. They were going to make us pay for some weapons in BF:BC but they changed their mind seeing as how many people were outraged. So I was very happy about that although some other companies have done stupid **** with dlc like the RE5 multiplayer mode.

If EA didn't make NHL 10, life wouldn't be worth living. No but really, EA is the least of my worries lately. They've been doing well.

EA seems to be the company people love to hate.

I got RE5 for $30 through a sale and that was the only reason that I even bought the game. If I didn't see that sale I would have refused to buy it because of that or bought it used.

No, lately they have been trying to change their games prespective, Dead Space, Mirrors Edge, BF:BC and a lot more coming. Personally the one that makes me sick is Activision, good thing Zenimax bought id and not thoes guys.gow117

They have gotten better. Activision is going to become the new EA, because they want titles for which they can release at least one sequel per year. Guitar Hero? Band Hero, DJ Hero? What the heck! I want some Piccolo Hero!

I used to dislike EA quite a bit a few years ago. However now they are turning into a better company overall. They have been releasing new IP's and even getting good developers under there belt.

To me Activision is the old EA. All they do is rehash the same crap every year. Look at how many damn hero games they have with bundles. Not to mention the new Tony Hawk. Also the whole Brutal Legends thing pisses me off. There only lucky they have a development team like Infinity Ward on there side.:P

I think this topic is just random bashing. That's just the video game industry nowadays. Not all of their games are bad, they do have a knack for buying licenses to big titles I'll hand it to you there.

EA has been putting out some great new IPs

Activision has been putting out waaaay too many "hero" games lately. Modern Warfare 2 looks good though

I don't hate either one, I am happy with many titles that both have released. From EA I love The Sims, Spore, Burnout, Battlefield, Command & Conquer, Army of Two, Mirror's Edge, and more. From Activision I love Call of Duty, Tony Hawk's Series, Guitar Hero, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and more.

Fact is, all video-game companies have released bad titles that have disappointed fans. They have also released many terrific games that millions of people have enjoyed playing. It's easy to stay mad at them for releasing bad titles, but I have found it better to just ignore the bad titles and stick with enjoying the ones I love.

EA can be pretty good at making games and pretty bad.

Its a huge company, so...

But, what I really hate is their annual sequels. Thats just way too fast, both from a development point, and it shows in the game, and annual sequel games are very hard to get excited for.

I will admit, DICE doesn't get messed with much. The Battlefield series is a great series, but EA did screw it up with Heroes. Hopefully Battlefield 3 will be as good as 2 and 1942.
