Anyone else think the Forza Demo was not that great?

Personally I thought it was terrible. Graphics were below 360 par, the cars looked kinda cell shaded and the models seemed to have little detail. On top of that it seem to handle almost exactly like Forza 1, I was expecting at least some changes there. The tracks enviroments were bland and uninteresting, and as for the sound....... well to be honest I can't remember much from the sound as I was too focused on how bad the rest of it was.

But hey that's my opinion, but I bet im not the only one.

I know what you mean and I am the same way. But with Micrsoft always hyping the visual side of things i expected more. And anyway the gameplay was dull too.

I loved it. One thing i never liked about project gothem or grand turismo was no damage to the cars. I love the realistic damage in forza. I'll definitely be getting it.martinoob

Yeah but the damage is pretty much a texture with some scrapes on it. Looks like a sticker to me, and there is minor body deformation that's about it.

Car parts scatter onto the racetrack. I thought that was a great feature. Damage will certainly make playing on xbox live more interesting too.

yeah but its basically the same damage as forza one.. i at least expected some more damage considering its next gen

I never played forza one. Perhaps thats why my expectations are not so high.

There is car damage in PGR.

I never liked the first Forza and the second one seems just as bad. I won't be buying it.

I think they limited the damage in the demo. Ive seen loads of videos and features where the car gets damaged way more than on the demo.

But I agree that it was unimpressive. I was really looking forward to it and in the end it was just a huge let down for me.

Yes I do actually.

I was relly dissapopindet. I thought they might give me SOME kind of customiztion. I mean thats what the game is all about, and you can't even change paint colours.  Did not make me want to buy it.  If that was the reason the game was delayd.  Bad call.

Its a demo relax people...Not every thing is maximized in demos..There was no body shop to paint your cars..It didnt have every thing the actual game is going to include in it...Think every one is just blowing things out of proportion...Sure the devs said its how its going to look...Just remember they couldve made the demo months ago..This can be some old shots...With out shadows an such...So i think  you people need to wait for the full game...

The gameplay is pretty much what I expected from Forza, which is a good thing.

The graphics? I was expecting more, but I'm not sure what the situation with the demo is -- i.e. whether or not this is an early build or if this is fairly close to the finished product. There was a reasonable amount of jagginess in the graphics, low-res textures and I wasn't so impressed with the damage modeling (although some have stated that the damage was nerfed in the demo and will be more pronounced in the final product). I expected better lighting and shadow effects at least. In my opinion, this doesn't look much better -- if at all -- than PGR 3, but considering that many of the demos ended up looking and playing better in their retail incarnations (for example, Fight Night), I'm willing to give it another look.

Even if the final product ends up being much the same, the gameplay is ultimately what matters and my preference would still go towards Forza for a racing game. I just won't be as inclined to pay full price for it. 

How are the gfx compared to PGR3???Hygom

 I found PGR3 to look better...especially in the car model department....the foranza 2 demo almost has a cell shaded appereance with the cars...its weird looking.

wow most of you have no brains. The demo was to see the physics thats about it. Its easily the best feeling game I have ever played. If you ddn't play with a wheel i wonder why it didn't feel great. it feels even better then GTR imo. the graphics will be better, turn 10 says so. The custimation will be insane. The online should be awesome as well because i personally think there will be many competitive cars in each class. Its called research guys its really not that hard. Longman27

Sega Rally Revo looks cooler than that but it may not come out until 08.

Nope. Not a single bit disappointed. I totally loved it. The graphics were OK enough. Sure they could have been better, but it's a decent job for a game that uses a damage model, as well as full upgrades to you're car like bumbers and whatnot. GT uses no damage model and no changes to the car, so they can have a full potential car model for every car. In Forza 2 it's more complicated to achieve with all the changes you can make.

And let's be honest, it didn't look even close to being bad. And the gameplay was purely amazing in my opinion. I have the wireless racing wheel and it was a blast. Definitely picking this game up. Collectors Edition style.

I was not impressed very much either. I cancelled my pre-order after I played the demo. Not that I will never buy it I will just wait untill it drops price.

Not as over rated and over hyped as other stuff out there....which I'll not mention....but lest just say, this is just another reason to own a 360.....
